I just ordered this kit and will be using it for the first time this weekend (as long as it's delivered for this weekend :xyxthumbs: ) so was looking for some tips and tricks. I will be helping my neighbor out with his 2004 Chevy 2500 quad cab which is black and in pretty rough shape. My plan is to use the kit to bring back the shine and remove some of the scratching and will be using the PC 7424XP.

I read that using an air compressor to fluff up the pads is a good idea, any other thoughts to make the most of the kit? Thanks!

This kit is great to use when UC is not enough and m105 is too much. I would start by saying that this system is like a rotary, so you must apply some pressure and always prime your pad. I would wash the car first to get all the dirt off. Your pad should be cleaner after each section pass. Two passes of medium pressure and two passes of light pressure should be great.

Awesome, thanks!

Here's a video worth watching. :props:

Completely priming the pad is very important and use slow arm speed to ensure the pad and product has time to perform it's correction.

I've been itching to buy the Meguiars microfiber pads, the Walmart here has them and I know they will go on clearance because no one here knows about this stuff. When they do I'm pulling the trigger. They even have the Meguiars DA polisher microfiber compounds, I'm just buying time. They always have stuff on clearance and I always snatch it up.

One of the best combo ever. Just follow the direction in the box and you'll be set. They give you two cutting pads and two finishing pads. I switch a dirty pad for a new one and not worry about cleaning it on the fly. If you manage to dirty both, i'd take a break, drink some beer, and wash the pads in the sink over running water. Paper towel dry them and you're good to go.

If you don't have a compressor how do you clean MF pads on the fly???

Thanks everybody, I do appreciate it. I spent some time last night on You Tube and watched the video you posted above Bobby, very helpful. After seeing a post the other day regarding how the DA kit was not as impressive, I got nervous about my order so wanted to see if there were any special tricks to keep in mind. This video was great and I appreciate all of your feedback!

With a little brush

I use a denture brush for foam pads--is that OK with MF pads? Do you just brush the pad while it's stationary or do you spin it on the DA and run the brush over the pad?

Thanks!!
