This isn't so much about the products themselves they are great but about the containers they come in. They are bad, do not use them. When you get your Meguair's product in the mail transfer them to a better container.

That line was marked when I looked at the bottle and thought that something was wrong. I kept checking back, and the liquid didn't move, until one morning I smelt the scent of laughy taffy. I look at the shelves and I see that. The red container did the same thing as well, my battery charger for my drill was underneath and is steeped in dressing.

All that to say, go buy a nicer container than comes with these products.

I should note: the green APC didn't leak I used that much of it, it's awesome. Also, I couldn't detect the leak because the crack occurred on the feet of the container I could only find it and patch it up with some hot glue because I found liquid coming out.

I've had the same thing happen to a few of mine just sitting on the shelf. The ones they use for the Mirror Glaze line seem alright though, just the clear ones for the Detailer line have issues.

To me, it feels like the plastic is thinner -- perhaps due to not having any color pigment in it.

I was once told that part of the problem with ANY plastic container is that meeting government regulations for manufacturing plastics can sometimes cause quality and performance issues in the plastic itself as the manufacture tries to meet mandated criteria.

That's something I was told while I worked for Meguiar's but I don't remember who told me but it did have to do with the topic of plastics and government agencies like the EPA.

Car wax manufactures don't make plastic containers, they have to source this these things out to plastic containers manufactures.

Contact Meguiar's Customer Care, they log issues like this into a database and if there's a spike in issues then like any company they investigate. They do appreciate your feedback.

:)

That's surprising, I have 4 gallon conatiners (plus numerous 32 oz ones) and have never had an issue. I'll have to watch now.

Yea, I'm really interested in this as well! I have about 8 different products purchased in gallons and it these start to leak I'm not going to be a happy camper I can tell you that!! :argue:   :argue:

I can see what looks like weeping in the seam on the bottom of the bottle of Megs APC+, but it came that way. There's a fine orange stripe along the seam that runs lengthwise across the bottom. I havent seen anything on the shelf yet though, but it's only been a couple of months.

I touched when i bought some used stuff from a friend, that one of those gallon bottle was very soft. And one was leaking a bit in the container I was keeping everything in.

Can't remember ever having a gallon jug of my Meguiar's products leaking, and I've been through quite a few of them. Just livin' right I guess. ;)

Thanks for the heads up. :xyxthumbs: I have gallon containers from both Meguiar's and Adam's. The jugs will get marked with a black Sharpie as soon as I sign off.
