used scratchx and wasint impressed. still have swirles. polished in small aeas waited till it dryed then buffed still swirles. going to use m205 and slow down my passes. I start at 3 them up it to 5 using a g110. any suggestions on a better product as i dont want to cut too deeply into the clearcoat but want to get the best shne swirle free 2008 kia sorento Totaly black here on the streets of san antonio texas.Feed back please

i will be finishing it up with nxt tech 2.0 seveal lyers between curing time of course.

My advice would be to not use any of the OTC stuff that says "swirl remover" on it. It never works lol. What kind of pads are you using? You might want to step up to a bit more aggressive polish and then finish down with the M205.

use 105 with the lake country orange pad or the megs soft buff burgundy pad then follow up with 205 with the lake country white or megs soft buff yellow pad for some fantastic results!

Which version of ScratchX are you using? If you are using the older version, then you should know that it is one of the weakest paint cleaners that Meguiar's sells and is not very effective when applied by a DA. It is more effective when applied by hand with some effort and pressure.

I have not used the new version, ScratchX 2.0. The new version is more aggressive than the old ScratchX and the new M205 and is even more aggressive than M83 (see Aggressiveness Order). What pad did you use? As I understand the new micro-abrasive products, it is important not to buff them dry. To do so can create hazing. There should always be a wet film. The folks at Meguiar's Online can give you some good counsel on technique.

Cheers,
Al

im using the meguiars soft buff 2.0 polishing pad. also recieved free gift of m205 should i start at m83 and i did let it dry but wont do is this time.

I find hand polishing to provide very little benefit unless paint is relatively fresh. Not knocking any product, but a buffer and the correct pad and polishes will provide better results in my opinion.

I have used Scratch X by hand with excellent results on small scratches. Many times it will take more then one application. Great product for bringing along in a motorcycle saddle bag.A few friends with dark colored Harleys won't travel without it.Haven't tried 2.0 yet.

ScratchX is better used by hand working on isolated scratches, as you can concentrate the pressure better than with a polisher. If you are looking to remove swirls from your whole vehicle, there are better polishes for the job. If you have M205 give that a shot with a polishing pad on a speed of 5 with the G110.

Any chance you have pics showing your paint condition?
