Hi!

Next week I'm going to polish my granddad's boat.I wonder if I can use my Menzerna products to do this.I will use a DA polisher.I have Menzerna FG500,IP2100 and FF3000.

I heard that gelcoat is harder than clearcoat on a car.

Thanks for your opinion.

Grtz

I just finished cutting, polishing and wax my dad's boat last week. I used Menzerna SF4000 and an orange Lake country pad on my dewalt rotary polisher for my polishing step and it worked excellent! The boat had a decent amount of oxidation (it's a 1978) and had never been polished before that's the only reason I had to cut the gel coat first. Good luck with the project!

Yes you can use those on a boat for sure. I did learn from being on this forum the one thing to stay away from is dark colored polishes on gelcoat. From doing a few boats a year and also doing my personal boat I have come to like using chemical guys phase v polish. It's aggressive enough to take care of a bit of oxidation and staining but finishes off extremely well using an orange or pink pad.
