I have the PC 7424XP, using 5.5" LC yellow smart and flat pads, XMT pad conditioner. Pads are cleaned after every section with a soft brissel brush. I use the 6 pass method, with 15-20lbs of pressure on the buffer. Using Menzerna power gloss, seems like it isn't producing the results like I want. Seems like Mike's videos seems to reduce or remove all the swirls, rids. Is there a better combination people are using, and a different approached to getting the finish I'm looking for from a DA. I know a flex will knock the job out of the park, but I want to see how far I can go with the PC.

and some orange pads. I don't know that many people who use yellow pads.

Power Gloss has more cut than M105, but doesn't finish nearly as well. If you want to use something from Menzerna then try Super Intensive Polish.

PG is already a really strong compound so you would need to go with a stronger pad like a surbuf.

I dont know why people think a LC orange is an aggressive pad, it is considered a light cutting pad. You would be going backwards as the LC yellow is more aggressive.

That is correct. I've just heard that some people didn't like the orange pad so the next step after M105 orange would be M105 surbuf.

Would have thought the pad choice as the power gloss is a very heavy cut.

I'm sorry, is the problem that you aren't getting enough cut, or aren't getting the finish, or both? PG is a...well, I was going to say old-school compound, but it's not really, it's not rocks in a bottle, but it will leave hazing that will need to be cleaned up by a finer polish. PG doesn't have SMAT abrasives like some of the other polishes...the routine in the old days was PG followed by IP followed by FPII...that was before the Ceramiclear polishes came out.

I actually use yellow pads here and there. Especially if I'm working on a GM...paint is ridiculously hard and it helps speed things up. But I have since purchased the Flex which means my yellow pads for the DA haven't been touched in a while.

Yeah I want a Flex bad, got some stuff to take of first then get it. I just seeing why I can get the results I want. Yeah I am working twice is hard on a paint correction then I need to be.
