A customer brought his Audi over this week. I have no idea what he used, but he was trying to remove some sap. Which was a PAIN to remove (until I was taught a cool trick). Scratching the hell out of it, almost looked like wet sanding. So I went ahead and polished the car with SIP and CCS orange pad. Then I came to the tunk and roof and the PC just wasn't cutting it for those scratches. So I got ahold of ASPHALT ROCKET for some help. He brought over his rotary with Menz. PG and some wool. HE spent about 4 hours on the roof, two quarter panels and a little section of the trunk. The roof took about 5 passes with PG, and 2 passes of 106FF. Then a couple passes of PG and 106 on the quarter panels and trunk. My job was to watch, learn, and wipe away all that dust from PG, and man was there A LOT of it. We finished up around 1:00 am. Then I took a nap and woke up at 6:30 to do the finishing touches.

Customer picked it up around 10 or 11 and was amazed at the results. I let him check everything out with the halogen. Got another customer for life thanks to ASPHALT ROCKET.

So what's your trick? I use Rubbing Alcohol which seems to work well for me (isopropyl alcohol)

Put some polish on the spot and rub it in with your finger. Clay, PB Bug Squash, Pinn. sponge, and alcohol didnt touch these spots.

Ah yes, Power Gloss is wiked stuff :righton: I remember my firt date with her...she was wearing a nice red dress...sexy...hahaha.

okay all joking a side, Power Gloss is one sweet product with wool pads and foam for that mater. There are many things you can do with Power Gloss, I'm hoping that soon I'll be able to convert from foam to all wool but I'm not there just yet...I'm hoping soon though.

The pictures look great buddy, very nice job and ASPHALT ROCKET is one cool dude. Well done ASPHALT ROCKET.

D&D malco have a great product called SAP SUCKER its unbelievable and works every time

Anytime Dan, glad customer was happy with results. Student must keep tricks a secret.;)

If you're good enough you can finish with wool. ASPHALT ROCKET was finishing down the PG (with wool), with NO marks. But he still finished with CCS white and 106FF.

That is the absolute first time I have EVER heard of finishing with a Wool pad...seriously.

Maybe a really soft polish with a low RPM...maybe....but that is truly a first.

That was arrogant to say my friend.

The guy who is teaching me is the one who told me......ALWAYS follow up with a Foam Pad.

Maybe you should see his work over at Autopia....his screen name is david_fermani

WOW!!! Very nice job! What the heck did the customer use!! That was very nice of ASPHALT ROCKET to help you out! Man you guys must me tired!! Great Job! :D

First I do not think that was arrogant. Second I can usually finish lsp ready @
90% of the time, when I have to lean on the rotary it will leave swirls. This is when I do use foam to finish. The person who is teaching you has a set way of doing things-his style. I do not believe you have to finish with foam and the person who is teaching you is not a detailing god, so name dropping means nothing to me. I never really get this rude but when people name drop or think somrthing can not be done without trying bothers me. It has taking years of doing this so i think you need to come into this with an open mind and just because one person tells you something does not mean it can not be done. please appreciate the work that was done and how people help out other people on this forum. If you were in this area I would be more than happy to help you out.

Point proven...if your having to pull the Wool pad out it normally means yoru dealing with screwed pain to begin with.

Second..Yes that was arrogant to me to 'assume' who I am talking to is not a professional at his own game.

Third....From all the people who I have dealt with in the past 2 years of doing this I have always been taught to use a foam after wool. If you can do it...then more power to you...just seems like more work to use a wool pad throughout the process and making sure you don't apply much pressure....I have been taught my technique not only through another member on thsi board but also from Auto Magic training.

Sorry you feel that way. But I wasnt assuming you're being taught by so and so or some school. All you said is that you've never HEARD of finishing with wool. Thats a lot different then saying, professional detailer ____ has taught me... If you had said that, then I would have phrased my sentence differently.

So no, I wasnt being arrogant. And if you ask me, it sounds like you're being the stubborn arrogant one. But Ill leave it at that, I dont want a bunch of BSing in my thread. You can shoot me a PM if you want to continue discussing this though.

Thanks Tonya. I have no idea what the customer used, but it must have been pretty damn rough. I was getting real tired towards the end, and I wasnt even doing anything haha.
