Hello there!

Today I'm going to give a short review about Menzerna Powerlock that I use in Indonesia. I live in Jakarta which has a high UV Index such as described in accuweather below

Pretty hot isn't it?

So I started to detail my car in 7th February 2016. I prepped the car using Menzerna SF-3500 on LC white pad and without IPA wipedown or any paint cleanser, I directly apply the powerlock over the car and wait for about 20 minutes before I buffed it off. Several hours after I apply powerlock, I pour some water to see the beading and sheeting effects on the car. This sealant is very easy to apply and buffed it out without pressure at all. I have tried several sealant such as 3M Premium Liquid Wax, Meguiars Ultimate Wax, Megs NXT (which causing streaks), mothers synthetic wax and I will not turn back to use those sealants (I know sometimes psychology effect always tell us that the latest product we use is the best, but this powerlock is very very easy to apply)

I found that the beads are excellent, however I can't give a clear and vivid shot due to the cloudy weather when I detailed my car in Feb (January-April is rainy season in Indonesia, therefore it almost cloudy and rainy all day long)

And below is the result after 5 months (7 July 2016)

After 5 months the waterbeading effect is still there although it didn't show perfect round beads anymore. The gloss and shine are actually still good although some swirls due to washing are appear. This brown honda is daily driven and from february til april I always parked outside almost 24/7. I washed the car sometimes rinseless using ONR and sometimes just a standard car wash using two bucket method using 3M car soap. I never used any quick wax / spray wax during this 5 months test.

Conclusion
: Powerlock is a very durable sealant as I use in a harsh climate and the car is daily driven. However I still prefer AutoFinesse Power Seal (more carnauba looking) but it has to be applied using DA or rotary otherwise it's very tricky to be applied.

I'm just wondering how difference (in shine, gloss or overall looking) between powerlock and wolfgang deep paint sealant 3.0? Does wolfgang deep paint sealant gives a better looking (significant) than menzerna powerlock?

Thanks for the review.any carnauba or sealant won't last forever especially in that climate.for a glass like shine and durability, try the mckees coating or uber. There very affordable and easy to use and will out last any sealant and wax.coatings will not last forever either, but a paint coating will far exceed durability wise if maintained.uber is 52.00 and mckees is less.

Thanks for the review!

:D :D

I've tried using coating Cquartz on my dad's car but it flashed too quick resulting a very hard buffing out. I'll give another try next time using your suggestion. Thanks for your advice :)

Yes WGDGPS does look better than powerlock.

Whoaa, I think its time to try wolfgang then. LOL

I have been waiting for a review on this product before I bought it, thank you for the review bud.

Do you have any before photos so I can compare the shine ?

Thank you. I have photos taken on Feb 2016, but just like I said above, the weather was cloud so I can't give good photos, but here are the photos on that day

As you can see, Powerlock give a deep wet look on that paint just like some oil dripping
Below were shots I took yesterday (5 months after)

Wolfgang is a great product line as well as menzerna. As a user of both there is a slight difference with Wolfgang but not by much to warrant 40.00 I would continue using powerlock and top it with Wolfgang spray sealant periodically.

I will agree that Powerlock is a nice product - easy on, easy off, and lasts quite a while. The only thing I don't like about is that it is extremely difficult, if not impossible, to remove from black plastic. I just bought and applied some Four Star UPP and while I don't know about longevity, it's a bit easier off than Powerlock and it enhances the black trim rather and is not a problem to remove from it.

I use Powerlock & Wolfgang both, & haven't been able to see any difference between them. Both easy on/off, both yield great finishes.

I think I'll put a order in this month and grab a pint of it or should I just get the quart?

That is some great stuff!! I have a bottle that I use too! Great review!

How much better? I used initially 105/601 duragloss, my red soul turned to a pinkish tomato. When I switched to PL I got totally different result which I was trying to achieve long time ago, a saturated bloody deep wet red, so, I cannot imagine how much better WGDGPS would look like. I would exchange sample of PL for WGDGPS if someone wants to try , I'm just eager now to see the difference.

PL to me is more a hard candy or clear coat look, WGDGPS is sorta more carnauba in depth if that makes any sense. I really wanted them to look the same personally as PL is cheaper but WGDGPS beat it in looks.

Only slight difference? I am interested to try n buy wolfgang, but if its only a little to no difference than its just a waste of money. anyway, thanks for your opinion GSKR! :)

I think if you apply some trim dressing, the issue will be gone. :props:

But is it night and day difference? or just simply a bit different? thanks! :dblthumb2:

Theres no black or white, clear cut answer as aesthetics are very subjective. The preparation parts always gona be the clear winner in aesthetics and lsp the cherry on the top.
