I just bought new/old mufflers and they are a little dirty. I want to get them looking nice before I install them but I'm not sure what to use on them. I'm trying to stay with OTC products for now. I've read that regular degreaser or bug & tar remover will get out all of the black spots, is that true? Has anyone used Mother's Power Metal Liquid Polish? What about Eagle One's Never Dull?

I have used both with great results. the power polish should be used with a powerball. it will be much easier to use than that never dull. I have been using never dull for over 10 years now. I really like it. you might also want to look into mothers paste polishes. they are some of my favorite.

I agree with the mothers paste polishes as you are looking for something OTC, otherwise I would recommend Optimum Metal Polish.

Thanks guys. I do believe I saw some of Mother's paste polish the other day. I'll take a look. You guys recommend that over the never dull? Would they be better together? Or just use my degreaser and then one product?

I have never used Never Dull, so my input is unavailable.

Ok thanks. Not sure if it's overkill. I assume with a good cleaning with degreaser or b&t remover a good polish will work well. I'll go look for Mother paste polish tomorrow. Thanks

Autosol metal polish is quite good. Have used it on all kinds of metals including brass. Although it does leave very small scratches as it is a bit harsher.

I use Mothers billet polish and it's my favorite OTC polish. I've used Never Dull but it's not my favorite. I just the end result wasn't as nice As mothers.
