i am having repeated problems with my two metro vacs. especially the 8hp blaster. the hoses blow off, shred and crush repeatedly. the company is incredibly sincere in helping and i dont think i am too abusive with them. metro replaced the master blaster hose immediately with no questions asked. my question is are other detailers seeing the same thing? are any remedies home or company available to stop this? thanks for any help

I have the Master Blaster 8HP model. The hose does come off if you do not put it on very well. I really work it on and then use some pliers on the clamp. The hoses will kink in a heartbeat if you bend them to much.

My unit developed a hissing sound (a leak) on the end cap and they sent me a new gasket but I had to supply the rope caulk. It seemed to work ok (fixed it this last weekend).

Well...the hoses can unscrew, and when they are almost unscrewed, they tend to blow off. They seemed to have some glue from the factory, which I had to break because I put the extender hose on, when I got tired of it coming undone I believe I put some Gorilla Glue on it. Just put a little bit in case you have to take it apart for some reason later, like one blob.

i thought about putting a metal sleeve inside the hose to keep it from crushing and bending. what do you think about that?

Well, obviously you can only do that at the end, or the hose won't be flexible. I really don't have that much problem with crushing and kinking, I guess I've learned to handle it without twisting it or stepping on it, after several years.

great news. i fixed it permanently. bought a 1 1/2 inch pvc drain pipe extension. 12 inches long. placed it over the male exhaust end, drilled hole through it and end piece, put bolt/washer through it. attached clips and even some gorilla tape for looks. the length of the pvc 12 inches relieves the stress on the hose as it exits the blower. works like a charm. follows me around now like a puppy , although one that blows like hell.

I brought this to the owners attention at Metro and he said that if you are having a problem with a hose please contact me. He will replace your hose immediately for you, they did have a problem with a couple faulty hoses which they have already fixed. Metro is a great company to work with and they firmly stand behind their products which is nice to see in a company now a days.
So just email me with your order number if you need a replacement.

hope this isnt a duplicate. seem to be having trouble with my e mails. there is no need to have metro send me a new hose. i got one from them already. sadly it failed too but my mcgyver solution worked great. their company is actually one of the best i have ever run across. old school and doing cust service correctly. no questions asked. i am thrilled with my solution and the vac is probably my favorite tool out of all mine and that is saying something. you could tip cows over with this thing. thanks meghan for the help
