Up to now, I was planning on getting the Metro 4HP Portable Vac, but after researching around here, I found out about the Ridgid Vacs.

I love the design of the Ridgid 5HP Pack.

Which is the superior Vacuum?

It's not as portable as those smaller ones but its a great shop vac and its very quiet.

This one appears to have a removable blower up top. Very handy as you could detach it and use for leaf/water blowing duties with or without the hose attached. I have a similar Craftsman and its a great all-around performer.

I can't see an equal comparsion between a Metro Vac and a full size Rigid. Can MVs hold much (if any) water?

I have this one. Good if you have little space to put it. Since it has all it attachments in the vacuum itself. Really good suction. But you can't get that many attachments.

The Vac and Blo isn't a wet vac???

I didn't know that.

They look so great that I wanna get all of them... :D

Metro's are built well and seem to have a great reputation, especially in the pet care area, there are nice to look at also.

I have the Rigid 2 in 1 vac and blow. It's a big vacuum but it can sure suck up the dirt or blow the water right off the car real quick. I replaced the cheap black hose with the better orange one and have the claw attachment like the car wash uses. I was going to get a vac n blow for it's smaller size, but if I ever need to vac something with water, I don't want to do it with the vac n blow.

I have this one also and it is a trooper, I have ran it without a filter,, using bleach water to filter for well over a year and it will pull copper speaker wire shavings out of the trunk of a volkswagen and that is about impossible to do

Re: Metro Vac vs Ridgid Vac

I have the Ridgid vac pictured below. Good volume and great HP for the small package, just wish I could get the same attachment pictured except an inch wider. Originally I was worried about the thinner tubing, but haven't had a problem yet, these are 1.75" rather than the full 2.5". But it's super light and easy to carry, so compromises had to be made somewhere.
