What should be the microfiber GSM for wiping compound and tough wax residue from paint serfice. I am currently having a real tough and difficult time wiping compound residue off with my current microfiber towels. Do some detailers prefer plush towels over the regular basic common microfiber towels or does it really depend on with her made such as China or Korea can please someone advise good microfiber selection tips

For wiping the residue off I personally like the waffle weave microfiber towels. I use that and then a quick buff with a good thick plush microfiber. Always gives me great results without missing any residue.

What product are you using that is tough? Over-working it sometimes leads to too much heat and causes compounds to be difficult to remove. If I see where that's happening I will mist the panel area worked on with some rinseless wash/water, then rework the area briefly with very little pressure and allow the product to then dry.

That said, I really like the eagle edgeless 180 GSM Korean 70/30 blend for removing product that is grabby like compounds.

To follow on to what pdqgp said...it sounds like part of your problem may be using too much product. With most detailing products, less is more. A common beginner mistake is using too much product.

I fear I am using to much product and if that is the case I will cut back on product. Thank you

Are you not worried the chances of swirls by using such like the waffle MF towel?
