As long as they are clean you are good to go. MF's are the toughest material to get stains out, as you cannot use bleach. You can use a mirofiber restorer that will help clean and soften your mf's, but it will not remove stains completely. Why not dedicate some mf's for dirty work, waxes/sealants, removal, glass, interior, etc.

Some stains just don't seem to come out completely for me.
I have used several laundry detergents and Micro-Restore and not all of my towels are perfect after washing. It doesn't seem to hurt the performance, though. I just try to not use them where they get terribly dirty. Wheels, tires, engines, I use cotton terry wash cloths and when they get to looking too bad, I just throw them away.

i dont seem to have problems with stains, if micro restore doesnt work i will use dp pad cleaner in the wash or some apc and that usually does the trick.

Thanks guys....i'll just use some cotton towels for dirty work and save dedicated M.F.s for waxing etc..

i always use my blue ones for glass, green for interior cleaning and yellow for exterior. I have large yellow for polishing/waxing. They all get washed separately to prevent cross contamination. And that way I dont get Zaino Leather In A Bottle all over my windows... Works out well.

Get the yellow Costco MF's for dirty work. I think they were 36 for 20 bucks.

I too save my nice microfibers for the "clean" jobs. But for wiping down wheels and tires after a wash, I use my bargain-basement Walmart microfibers which are like 8 of them for $5.

Some stains you just can't get out....doesn't necessarily mean there is still dirt there, but better to play it safe and save your good microfibers from the ugly stuff.

I have to agree with with most of the others here. My older MF towels that are on the thin side and have seen better days are dedicated to the dirty jobs. Of course my newest MFs like the Shamrock green towels and better Cobra towels are the only ones that touch my paint and interior work, the waffle towels that are used only on windows are kept seperate as well.

I know the feeling with having a hard time getting pollen out of my microfiber towels. I am in Massachusetts and we have had some high pollen count days and my Mustang Cobra was coated with pollen. I used some Clearkote Quick Detailer and my towels to clean off the car, but now I have towels that have been through the wash with the microfiber restore soap and still stained. I just set up a bucket with the DP pad cleaner to hand wash, and tested a few towels and still have the stains from the pollen.

If anyone has any ideas on how I might be able to get the pollen stains out of my towels that would be great. If they are washed and the pollen stain remains is that a problem?

I wish I could answer your question with some authority, but I really can't.
It doesn't seem to me that the discoloration should be a problem as long as the towels are still soft. You might want ti try them on your neighbor's car before using them on yours.

One reason I wouldn't be too concerned is the fact that the MF towels are stained/dyed when manufactured. The pollen stain shouldn't be that much different than the dye. It isn't like you still have particles of pollen in the fibers. (Is it????) But..... That is just a guess with no real basis in fact.

can i clean my mf towels w/ just vinegar?
I would certainly doubt it.
As I understand the use of vinegar in the MF cleaning process, it is to aid in breaking down any soap/detergent residue left in the MF product.
It is to be used during the rinse cycle, not during the wash cycle.
I use vinegar in a second rinse since I am not likely to be able to add it to the first rinse. I don't think adding it to the first rinse would be of any real benefit, but I don't know that.
There are some that do add it to the first rinse, then do a second rinse to be sure the vinegar is rinsed from the towels.
I'm not saying my way is the only way or even the right way, but it seems to work for me. :)

what do you guys recommend to clean my mf towels with that i can get at walmart?

For several years, I just used whatever liquid laundry detergent my wife was using. No bleach or fabric softeners.
I would stay away from a powder, but I had good luck with Tide, All, Gain that I remember.

Some stains just remain no matter what you do. Having said that I can say positively that an overnight soak in a wash bucket with two scoops of Oxyclean & water can work wonders at removing some stains that just wouldn't budge otherwise.
