I would like some input on Microfiber Madness products vs say The Rag Company (Korean Microfiber)...$5.35 VS $23.99 for WASHMITS. Is it possibly worth that much extra money?

This is probably impolite to post a thread asking about 2 products which aren't carried here. This would be more appropriate at the .org forum (which is an open forum). Just sayin'.

The Meguiar's wash mitt for$4 and change here @ AG is my go to.. The open ended microfiber comes completely clean on the grit guard. Amazing mitt for the price.. Why go elsewhere?

I do have and use products not carried by AG, but I completely agree with Ryan. And that said, I also agree with Setec Astronomy.

Just because this is a forum for auto geek doesn't mean that you can't post anything on here from other websites. Sometimes you have to shop around. Things are always carried at one place and I don't think anyone will disagree with that.

You can't post outside links, and it's frowned upon by AG staff. It's part of the forum rules. I'd say it's a small price to pay for the knowledge and discussion around here - plus there is a wealth of products available to discuss already...

I agree. Meguiar's wash mitt easily absorbs dirt from paint onto the mitt and cleans up incredibly well with a grit guard. Excellent product for a washless or rinseless wash.

Did you mean "waterless"? If so, why would you use a mitt for a waterless wash?

So I asked because I see posts that members are listing about what they've used and how great they are...TOWEL AND PRODUCTS THAT AG DOESN'T CARRY. I just read a post on here about how NOT to swirl a black car...by using certain towels and mits NOT sold by AG...so I would like to know what the difference is, since it's being posted HERE! I really am in shock that a company such as AG would be that threatened by someone asking a simple question. I would understand if I was saying well these products from this distributor are better then...but I didn't.

By the way...what is this .org forum you're speaking of?

"4th Get some dedicated Micro Fiber (not waffle weave) drying towels. There are a couple of brands that are the best choice. #1 is the Microfiber Madness Dry Me Crazy Towels. These IMO are the best for drying....period. Use them in conjunction with the blower (leaf or Metro Vacs or Sidekick). Another MF towel (I use in conjunction with the MFM towels and Sidekick) is the Dry-Me-a-River towels. Get their LARGEST size. It does not dry as well as the MFM's but they are large enough to get quite a bit of the water off and follow up with the MFM's if you can't use a blower."
I was asking about the towels/products YOU were talking about...if you think what I did was impolite, maybe you shouldn't throw stones while living in a glass house :props:

Per the forum rules:

Product discussion and support should be limited to products we carry and sell on (autogeek.net)

Autogeek isn't "threatened" by a simple question--it's a matter of manners, they pay for this forum, and they make the rules. They are actually quite lenient in their enforcement. I just personally think it's in bad taste to start a thread specifically to compare 2 products, neither of which are sold here.

As far as my reference to the ".org" forum, I refer to the former AutopiaForums.com, which was/is owned by PBMG, and is an open forum.

Did you mean "waterless"? If so, why would you use a mitt for a waterless wash?

I have tried numerous mf towels for rinse less and or wash less washes and found the megs wash mitt to drag less and lint less than the mf towels I used. It also seemed in my tests to pick up the dirt more effectively. It also seemed to clean up better with a grit guard than the mf towels. This could be because the MF is not looped. I am not the first to use the mitt, check out the Meguiars Rinse less car wash video.

However, I am ordering a Chinchilla Microfiber Towel with this 15% off sale to see how it performs compared to the mitt. If it works as well as the meg's mitt I will order more as it will have the advantage of 8 clean sides VS the mitt's 2 sides.

For me this is a hobby and I like trying and comparing different combinations of products and techniques. However, living in CA makes this more of a necessity to come up with the best method possible to wash and wax a car without a hose, foam gun, pw, foam cannon, etc.

I still have no decent wash less or rinse less method to clean tires and wheels without sacrificing a towel, mf or otherwise. Any suggestions would be welcome

I'm still not certain of your use of the different terms. "Waterless wash" and "rinseless wash" are generally not considered to be the same thing.

As such, I don't know anybody that uses a chenille mitt for a true "waterless wash." I think you're confusing the various "rinseless wash" methods with "waterless wash", wherein a less-dirty car is misted with product that is then gently wiped up with a thick, plush microfiber towel.

I wasn't talking to you. I quoted another person in my post who said that "just because it's an AG forum doesn't mean you can't post anything from other websites" which it explicitly does in the forum rules.

FWIW, I agree with other members here saying it was in bad taste to start the thread anyway. That being said, the products you mentioned are good and I own the wash mitt. I'd be happy to discuss them more and refer you to a couple of reviews if you'd like to PM me about them.

Both rinse less and wash less use a mf towel. I am simply stating that I found that using a Megs Wash Mitt works better than the mf towels I have tried on the 3 cars I maintain (1 white, 2 black). I noticed that Mike Phillips also used a Megs Wash Mitt with his Rinse Less Wash Less Video with Megs.
