Microfiber versus Cheesecloth Best way to remove polish, wax, or paint sealer?
Not concerned about ease. Which is best for the vehicle finish? Is there a better product?
As always thanks in advance!!!:dblthumb2:

I use cheesecloth exclusively with Swissvax although it does leave holes in the coverage. Now for Gouda Pro Line it's the cat's meow, slap it between a hard roll after application and you are well rewarded for the job you did. Im the MAN:buffing:Im the MAN

Peace,

What is cheesecloth? Made by Velveeta or Kraft? I prefer Microfiber towels as I am Lactose Intolerant...cheesecloth will give me gas.

•Try some of the below listed/linked source of
cheesecloth for polish, wax, sealant removal.

•If not satisfied with its performance for detailing-tasks...
-It always proves its prowess when used as a strainer
for fresh cow's (or even goat's) milk.

•You can thank me later.

This thread gives me gas. Is there not anyone else with a sense of humor on this board. Sheeeeesh. :buffing:

Cheese cloth was at one time the trick setup in detailing.....if that doesn't date me nothing will....

The best way to remove wax and sealant is to use a Wax and Grease remover. That stuff will strip everything off the clearcoat (except coatings).

Has anyone tried an actual slice of cheese to remove wax? I saw a You Tube video....

microfiber towels... :props:

Many years ago, I used to buy and use what was referred to as "Beefcloth", sold by one of the Wax Factories I did business with in Chicago many years ago.

This used to come in large Rolls, you cut off what you needed. I had so much of it, an entire Garbage Can Storage Bin full of it, that I bet my Dad in the Windy City still has some.

I'm reckoning, this was the detailer's choice before the advent of Microfiber.

That, or Baby Diapers, or pure Cotton Towels.

I do still buy cheesecloth, but for use in the kitchen. I make artisanal jams and jellies (one of my other hobbies) and it's invaluable for filtering out and clarifying fruit juices.

I've never used it on car paint in thirty years of detailing. Way back then I did use cotton terry, cotton Tshirt and cotton diaper cloths.

I used nothing but cotton diapers until some quality microfibers came out and were proven to be better than the diapers ... looking back now, I remember how tight the weave was on those diapers and I wonder how I ever managed not to scratch the heck out of my black car with them.
