I am wondering if anyone has any problems with their Mighty Lite II extractor? I use it quite often but after it runs non stop for about 5-10 mins the water wont be hot anymore. I have to wait for it to heat up again. Very irritating! I let it heat up at first for about 10 mins then purge the cold water out and wait another 5 mins. Thanks

how long do you let it warm up for? i have one let warm up for 1/2 hour good to go for whole job

About 10-15 mins. the directions say 12. Thanks for your reply.

No. And that is pointless. Once it reaches the set temp the element shuts down which is at about 10 mins on mine. I tried it anyway and still no result. I will never buy another Mighty Lite! Was the biggest waste of 800 bucks ever. I would have gone to home depot and got a Rug Doctor for 400 if I knew the heat wasnt gona work.:bash:

If you can have it checked. The heating element or temperature control may be malfunctioning. Won't let it get hotter. I have a Aztec Hot Rod Hot Spotter. In the first month I used it the heating element went bad. I set it back to the company and they put a new one in. Has worked fine since.

Is yours the Mytee Lite II 8070? Only reason I ask is I am looking to get an extractor and that is one I looked at getting and before I shell out the big bucks I want to make sure I have a solid machine. Thanks.
Peace,
Jon

JON,
I have the Aztec Hot Rod Hot Spotter. I think it is the best small, heated unit out there for the money. Especially for a mobile situation! Plenty of lift and heat! AG sells them now. Check out the store!

Showroom Shine,
Can I get through a whole car with the Aztec without having to refill and reheat?

Yes, you can Jon. You can probably do 2. You can refill it and the water will be hot in 12 minutes. I never put any chemicals in the solution tank. Pretreat with Folex,DP,or DWG Green.

This is puzzleing! I have heard alsways good feed back about the mytee lite and even those using the aztec and durrmaid have recommended the mytee to me

I just purchased one myself and I'm having the same problem. The pump that pumps out the water doesn't work consistantly. It kind of spurts the water out. The heated water comes out hot for about 30 seconds and then runs cold again. It is really frustrating. I used a Thermax before and that thing was money. Does anyone have any suggestions?

The heating element in the Mytee Lite is an in-line heater, meaning that as the water runs from the reservoir and through the heater on its way to the spray head it is heated up. Therefore, you will notice that the water is boiling hot when you first spray it out, as that water has been sitting in the heating element for 15 minutes or so. However, if you are constantly spraying, the water does not have enough time in the heating element to heat up, therefore it will come out lukewarm. If you spray, extract, spray, extract,... the water should have enough time to heat up though. Whenever I use cold water in my extractor I heat it up beforehand using a bucket heater which you can purchase for under $40, just put it in the reservoir and the water is hot before it enters the in-line heating element and comes out even hotter. You can buy a bucket heater at any tool store like Northern or Tractor Supply. Hope this helps.

I understand that a simple fix like the bucket heater might solve the issue but when paying 700 or 800$ for a machine you would think that the company would just have a tank heater on top of an inline heater.

This helps but it bums me out that this is not explained well when you purchase the product. My expectations were set high on this product based on everything I read.

Thanks.

Truly something that makes a "sure thing" purchase for me in the future yet another... to be investigated further purchase.... Hate continually spinning in circles over what to invest in

Mine had the same issues called Mytee & told me they had a bad batch of switches. Sent me 3 switches for free. Also fill the water tank with hot water. I fill mine before I leave for a job. I use my steamer more now anyway.

Hope this helps Jim

I'm going to fill mine with hot water and see if it works better. If it doesn't then I call Mytee and see if it's a switch. Thanks for your feedback.

So this is what I discovered. I put warm water in mine instead of using cold water from my outdoor hose. The warm water made a HUGE difference. I detailed my cloth seats in my Ford F250 and it worked awesome. I think Mytee Lite would receive better feedback on their machines if they instructed people to put warm water in it instead of cold water. I'm happy again with my machine and would recommend the Mytee Lite II.
