I’m working on a vehicle that’s had a small water leak and got padding wet under carpet.
The leak is fixed and padding and carpet dried out.
There is a slight odor of mildew.
I need some suggestions.
Is there some type of neutralizer??

Thanks.

So long as the area is fixed, I would clean and disinfect the carpet with steam as step#1 Step 2 use Zero Odor (look it up on Amazon). EXCELLENT Product. Works fantastic without leaving a scent behind. Just flat out does what it says. I used it recently on a friends couch that a dog threw up on and it smelled sour/foul. Steam cleaning killed the bacteria that were likely present even when dried. Laid down the first application of Zero odor and was 95% happy. 1 day later did a second and it's been perfect since. Nothing here on AG directly competes with it so it shouldn't be an issue mentioning it.

Peroxide also works well for eliminating smells emanating from organic materials. I'm not saying it's all that I would use, but it might buy you some time until you get what you need. I've yet to have peroxide discolor any fabric I've applied it to, but perform a test spot first if you try using it.
