I polished a 65 Shelby a couple of Months ago…black/gold stripes. Used 3M trisact 1500/3000/5000. Polished with 3M 3 step with a Flex polisher with 3M foam pads. sealed with wolfgang and waxed with wolfgang. Car looked fantastic! this weekend the customer called and the tops of the car have gone milky. it looked great 3 weeks ago. Anyone know what could be happening?

Is it possible the wax hazed or ghosted? I would guess that is what happened. Without pics is my assumption. I have had issues with some waxes that will haze or ghost (in your case milky) after a couple of hours in the sun. You would just re-wipe off the hazed area (of course Waterless or Rinseless Wash 1st). I know of a few brands of waxes I will no longer use because of this. I do a sealant topped with a wax. That being said, you used Wolfgang's which is an excellent product and surprised to see this. What Wolfgang Wax did you use...Fuzion?

This is my logical guess and it is a very easy correctable solution. Please let us know the outcome and please show pics of that ride! A 65 Shelby is something that needs to show pics!

Yes it was Fuzion, I will post pics,I have polished other vehicles and not had that problem.
What waxes do you use that do not ghost? Will I be required to reploish or relax?

If the sanding marks were not fully removed would it look great for 8 weeks and then become dull?

Had similar thing happen on the Wife's black TL. About a week after applying WDPS had a large white milky spot in the middle of the hood, not that noticeable for anyone but me. I blamed myself for not properly removing the Wolfgang Paint Polish Enhancer I had used before the sealant, but that is just a guess.

Started over with clay, Griot's Perfecting Cream, removed with Perfect Finish Paint Prep (did that twice) and coated with Wolfgang. That was a couple of months ago and white spot never showed up again.
