Milwaukee has released a new cordless DA, looks very promising

Better come with a super awesome battery, gonna take a lot to power a tool like that!

New tool expo. Milwaukee batteries are literally top of the line in quality but it can power the tool

A couple diesel batteries should do it.

Yeah, I'm thinking a company like Rupes that has been making power tools since the late 1940's and has been an innovator in the industry for the past 70 years or so and just came out with the ibrid would be the ones to come out with a legitimate battery powered da.

"2008 Orbital polishing takes its first steps: the LHR 150 with a 10 mm orbit is developed.
With the DD 108, a cordless drill driver, RUPES becomes a 10.8 V lithium pioneer."

Here's a link to Rupes history, it's quite interesting, pay particular attention to the 1968 timeline. We have Rupes to thank for random orbitals.

I just don't see any battery other than what you said above being able to handle the motor that's needed to power a da polisher or sander and deliver the torque we need to accomplish paint correction.

OP when it becomes available please invest in the tool and post up a review for us on Milwaukee's detailing website. In other words, please support the the company the supports our forum.

Funny thing.. I just orderedone got it yesterday
I got the 18v fuel with blue tooth
Had free 5amp battery promo
Theyll be comming out with a 6amp and a 9amp batter very soon

And a cordless D/A?
Dangit!
I know they had a 12v rotary polisherI, was tempted to try..
Hopefully the D/A is on the 18v and comes with the 9amp battery

I'm quite happy with my cord. I always assume battery units will drain out while using or be just too week for the task at hand.

Im not referencing their DA whatever it is, but Milwaukee is the leader in the cordless construction tool market. Everyone plays catch up to them.

That said, their tool will probably not be what we would call good.

It will be fun to watch the hand-wringing and intellectual gyrations over this :D

That is really cool. It will be interesting to hear how this performs. Battery life and weight will be big factors for a lot of buyers.
