This week for the first time I'll be trying ONR but not as a rinseless wash solution, but rather a water softener and a conditioner for my wash water. Normally I use either Wolfgang Auto Bathe or DP Xtreme Foam. The AG page says to mix one ounce of ONR with wash water made with regular car wash. My question is how do I know if I'm using an appropriate amount of ONR? The site doesn't say what the ratio of ONR to water should be. Normally I fill my wash bucket with 4-5 gallons of water and 3-5 ounces of soap. Based on this, does 1 ounce of ONR sound right?

I would add a ounce to two ounces.

Add 1 ounce to wash water made with your regular car wash.
No Rinse Wash & Shine’s advanced polymers and lubricants offer more surface protection and slickness than ordinary car soap alone. It acts as a water softener and conditioner to improve the quality of the water that touches your vehicle to provide the ultimate safe wash.

That's what I was talking about........it says one ounce of ONR, but not how many gallons of water. However I was thinking like you, no more than 2 ounces.

I add a ounce to 2.5-3 gallons of water, along with my pinnacle bodyworks.

Can you tell a difference when you use it with the PBWS? I use the bodywork shampoo and I find it gives me great lubrication by itself with a sheepskin mitt..

What's better?

a) Adding an ounce of ONR to the wash solution, then washing normally.

b) Pre-soaking with ONR, then washing normally.

c) Pre-soaking with ONR, then washing with an ounce of ONR in the wash solution, then washing normally.

You can feel a difference. It just adds that little bit more lubrication, not too much though. That's why I only use a ounce.

After adding 3 gallons of water to my bucket I do the same... 1 ounce. When I measure out my soap I put an ounce in the measure cup first and then pour the auto shampoo into the measure cup behind it.
The reason I do this is the auto shampoo (Usually Ultima) is much thicker then the ONR and I think its easier to rinse my cup into the bucket after pouring.

Even if it's not much lubrication, why not do it? To me, the point is do whatever it takes to minimize the possibility of introducing scratches. But, according to what AG says, it's not just about lubricity, it's also about softening the water.
