I figured this out before but right now I'm drawing a huge blank. I need the simpleist way to figure out how to mix up solutions i.e 10:1, 5:1, ect, ect. Right now I'm trying to mix up a 2:1 solution (2 parts solution 1 part water) in a 16oz bottle. Since I suck at math big time I need help :confused:, whats the esiest equation to follow and more importantly what the answer :D (2 parts solution/1 part h20).

well 2:1 is 3rds. So... 16/3 = 5.333333333333333333333333

One more edit... as long as you are using 1:x ratios it should be super easy.

Like 10:1 would be 16oz / 10 = 1.6 oz of water to 14.4 oz solution

I just guess at ratios, what's the worst that could happen? Melt the paint, blow myself up?

What are you making in your lab?? Mr Frankenstien:p

I think it's anti-detailing addiction drug protype, might cause restlessness, upset stomach, and desire to mate opposed to trying new detailing supplies.

LOL no I'm diluting some Chemical Guys PRO-DETAILER+1XCarnauba -Quick Detail Spray & Waterless Carwash. As a waterless wash they recomend you dilute it 2:1 because of the carnuba in it, diluting it helps eliminate streaking and saves money you $$.

SOUNDS VERY FEASIBLE:cheers:

I'm picturing one of you guys in the news for developing a carnauba explosive:D

Yeh I was always kinda confused on the ratios, couldn't find the right bottle for example with my OP/OC which people would mix. So I just would put some OC on the pad along with a little OP and it worked fine.

Wally World sells bottles with the ratios on them 10:1, 9:1, 8:1 ,ect, ect....I just could figure out the 2:1

What is this Wally World everyone talks about, only one I know of was in Lampoons Vaction:D. Is it like an acronym for Wal-Mart?

x:y
x=solution
y=water
x+y = z

x/z = percentage of solution
y/z = percentage of water

(percentage of solution)*16oz = amount of solution
(percentage of water)*16oz = amount of water
so for 2:1
x = 2 part solution
y = 1 part water
2 + 1 = 3
2 / 3 = 0.66666
1 / 3 = 0.33333
(0.66666)*16oz = 10.6666oz of solution
(0.33333)*16oz = 5.3333oz of water

Wait I thought 1:2 would be solution 1 : water 2. Weird

ratios

If you have microsoft excel, send me your e-mail address and I'll send back a file I made that does it all for you. Just plug in what you want...
