Good morning AG!

I was wondering what method you guys use to invoice when Mobile Detailing? Do you have someone in the office write it up and email it to you and you email it to the customer? A paper copy when the job is done sounds the best to me.

Keep in mind that i am in Canada and i don't believe the Square technology (paying with Credit Card) has arrived here yet, although i would need to look into that. But that still doesnt leave me a paper copy for the customer.

I am using a Galaxy Note 2 smartphone which may leave me with a couple of nice apps for invoicing to customer's email, if you guys have any apps to suggests it would be great also.

Please share your used method for when you're on the go i would really appreciate an inside from someone that's been doing it.

Cheers, much appreciated.

So far every customer I had last year did not want a copy of an invoice. I bought a invoice pad from walmart for a few bucks if someone did want it.

I had a professional invoice designed. I just write it out by hand after each detail. You can design one yourself for free online with a template, print them out, then fill out the pertinent information yourself.

Thats not a bad idea, you wrote one up for your books and to keep track when they didnt want it?

Yes i was thinking to go that route, just wasnt sure if writing it by hand was something "legit" to do.

I keep track on a separate sheet and then when I get home I input it into a program so I have a little redundancy. So far all of my clients have just been your basic details and not paint correction.

Database is always a plus to keep track at home. Basic detail with no paint correction? Hmmm ;) like a wash and wax i presume? I suggest the 3 package method as Mike suggested in one of his thread, makes it easy to choose for customer with no knowledge of what we actually do.

Free to try as a demo. Free card reader. 2.7% -3.5% per transaction ( depending on type of card ).

Check out the app it's free to try (login as demo) and you can play around with setting up a menu.

Looks very professional IMO and can directly email a receipt if they want it. I'll be going with this company when I start up unless something more cost effective comes out for mobile payments.

Most of my customer don't want one I do have one made up if they do with my logo on it.

Yep I have a tiered system for this year ready. Last year was my first year and kept prices down to drive some business. This year is a totally different ballgame.

If you have an android phone or tablet, look into "Clover Point of sale", or "Registroid POS"

Hey MTLean!

I'm also in Canada and currently use Square - so that's definitely an option for you.

Super easy to add your packages/services.

Cheers

I use quick sale on my iPad. It works great you can have all your different packages and prices on there and just touch them to add them to an invoice.

Then I just email them the customer if they want them.

I have been playing with the configs in Square and I am still undecided on how to bill.

Method one: I make one item named Car Detailing (40$/hour) and I add it several times to reflect the number of hours worked. This is the easiest method but it doesn't allow for fractions of an hour to be used. So I am not sure I want to do that.

Method 2: I simply punch in the amount and make a note going something like Car Detailing, 4.5 hours@40$/hour.

Method 3: I input all my packages with the base price and then add a manual entry for the extra time if any.

So what are you guys using, and why?

I've had a bit of a look around for this at your recommendation, it appears that Clover POS is no longer available on the Google Play Store, App Brain (at least when you try to download) or from the Clover site itself.

Seems like you got a good thing going :D
