I just purchased a FORD ECONOLINE E250. Found out after purchasing that I need commercial insurance even if just storing my equipment and supplies, like to hear from other mobile detailers on using their van for business. Would this be the same for a CHEVY ASTRO?

When I called my insurance company a few years back they told me that material in the van was covered by the home or renter's insurrance. The amount is rather low... something like 5K but that is enough for what I carry in the van. This is in Montreal, Canada. Rules may vary in the USA or elsewhere.

Very similar to me....homeowners covers content up to $7500 i think for me...way more than i carry but good to have!

not referring to contents in vehicle, but INSURANCE is listed as a CARGO VAN (Size?) COMMERCIAL VEHICLE. I wanted to add as an add on with my other vehicle, insurer took VIN NUMBER comes up as a cargo van you have to insure it as a commercial (business use) vehicle can not add to regular vehicle insurance.
Was trying to get vehicle INSURED to drive, insurer ran VIN NUMBER, comes up as CARGO VAN in system- FORD E 250 I assume they call it a COMMERCIAL vehicle (size/weight) could not insure on my regular car policy as an add on had to get seperate policy. I went to two other agents besides my car insurer just to see what they said after running VIN and both said same thing even checked other agents online, I guess VIN tells vehicle description.
Wonder if smaller cargo vans have to be insured as COMMERCIAL examples CHEVY ASTRO/ GMC SAFARI FORD TRANSIT
