I am putting together my mobile setup together as we speak. I have a brand new 6x8 open trailer. I have a friend selling me a used honda 2200 pressure washer (used once). Here is where I have some question.

What size generator is everyone running and what brand. It needs to power my flex rotary, GG DA, 6.5hp Shop Vac, 5 gallon compressor, and steamer.

What size tank does everyone have 90, 100, 120 gallon.

What size hose does everyone use and what type of reel.

DO you filter the water before you put it in the tank with either the system AG or GG sells?

What type of pop up tent do you use? Needs to be sturdy fit cars and small suvs under, need to be able to put up by 1 person.

Thanks for all the help.

I can only comment on the canopy / pop up tent. I use one made by 'quest'. dicks sporting goods carry them (and runs sales sometimes).

it's durable, and easily goes up with only 1 person. I can have it up in about a minute by myself. I would recommended the canopy weights (or rig something up yourself to hold it down)

also, mine is 10x10. It was bought for tailgating and not detailing. if given the choice, definitely get at least 12x12

3000 watts should be sufficient. That's what I have and am able to run all of the tools you have listed at different times during the process.

I have a 50 gallon tank as water is now more of a luxury than a necessity.

Can't comment on this one, as I don't have a need for one.

No comment on this one either, as I don't filter my tank water.

I plan to get an EZ-up 10X12' shortly.

We use a 5000 watt Husky generator (Subaru Engine) bought from Home Depot for about $800.00. It runs everything simultaneously without any problems.

We use a 65 gallon water tank. More than enough for a detail. It will last us all day, frequently completing 2-3 details without a problem. Cleaning mats included.

Our hose reel is usually my arm. With being dragged on the asphalt, they usually need replacing anyway. Can't justify one.

Our canopy came from Caravan, a company out of California. It has our name and number on it and cost around $1,000.00. It is 10 x 15 with two sides.

Do you think a 2000 or 3000 would be sufficient. I was looking for a quiet generator but I didn't want to spend 1000 on a Honda.

What brand are you guys using for the pop up tent?

3000 watts is sufficient to run what you have at the necessary time. For example, you can run both of your polishers simultaneously, but may not be able to run a polisher and the steamer at the same time. My 3000 watts ETQ and will run my Flex and PCXP simultaneously; however, air compressors surge while starting, so depending on the size of your compressor it may have to run alone. 3000 watts will not run everything that you have at the same time, but do you really need to? That's the question that you need to answer.

When selecting my generator, I got enough power to support my routine. Any more than that would have been a waste and would have cost me more in fuel costs and added noise.
