Hey guys.... I have been asked NUMEROUS times lately if we tint windows. I never felt as if that was something that can be done as a mobile unit, even though I have seen mobile window tinting everywhere. From what I have researched, seems that keeping the window dust and particle free is extremely important. How do you guys that offer this as a mobile service insure the window is particle free? I always felt that it was nearly impossible if we worked outside in an uncontrolled environment.

What's up Tony, if you have a canopy you should be fine as long as the wind isn't blowing like crazy. But if a garage is available or if the job can be done indoor is recommended. If you need a good site to get your tools for a good price let me know I can PM you a good site. I am also working in providing Mobile window tint service as well.

I am not sure it is something I want to get into quite yet. If you dont mind PM it to me just incase - I appreciate it man.

My main concern is that the tint will eventually prematurely peel or crack due to unseen particles on the glass. Am I just being to anal here or have any of you guys successfully marketed and produced a descent profit while still insuring good quality while mobile?!?!?!

I'd say go for it if you can do it right. Recently I've noticed a rash of window tints with bubbles and lines in it. Really looks like crap. I'm assuming it was a DIY job. The car would look much better without them. Very distracting in a bad way. Not knowing anything about it, as an aftermarket add on is film the only way to do it? Thanks, Spiney

I use to work at a place that tinted (although I didn't actually tint there). I don't see how in the world anybody can tint outside and not get all kinds of "trash" in the tint. Even in our closed garage (after wetting the whole place down), we would still get some junk in there sometimes and end up re-doing a window for somebody.

I guess if the customer isn't that picky, it could work outside, but I would think most people that are picky about their cars would be picky about their windows too.

There's a local shop that set up in a gravel parking lot, with one of those drive in awnings.

Not sure how they do tint there, but I don't be using them- too much chanc
e for contamination!

Sorry went to bed early last night lol ....... PM on the way man
Really all you need is an enclosed area to work you don't want any wind blowing like crazy where it knocks down your paper or keeps blowing crap to your windows you already cleaned.

Then you would need to worry about the paper quality what brand you are planning in trying.

The mobile tinters we used always required a garage @ the customer's site.

I agree with you that keeping the window dust and particle free is very important and for that reason you need to hire a reliable window tinting company. Such companies can tint your auto window according to your desired style.

IN RENNY DOLES book he suggest you could outsource service to someone for small % of cost.Find a good company to work with in turn they also could steer you some business also.

I farm out my tints to a shop that uses a plotter to cut film to size. From our experience I perfer this over the cut to fit while on the car. They remove all door panels and fit the film below the bottom window trim. Customers love it and that makes us happy as well.
