I know that montan wax is fossilized carnuaba wax and has better durability but I have never worked with it before. Does it draw dust the same way carnuaba does and does it take a long time to cure. I know from experience sealants take longer than wax to cure but offer better durability.

Does it draw dust the same way
carnuaba does...
•Montan Wax has a low level of electrical
conductivity, and good insulating properties.

-As such:
It can be used to coat the surfaces of electric
wires and cables (think Collinite #845).

-How those characteristics will translate to
low dust attraction, may be more dependent
upon the amount of (static) electrical charge
that's imputed upon the surfaces during the
Montan Wax's application, removal, and
maintenance processes.

If 845 contains Montan wax, a product with a high precentage of that wax may not be what you are after. I like 845 for many reasons and have used it for quite a while, but I can say it attracts dust/pollen more than other products I've used. It may also be simply a matter of waxes attracting/holding on to dust more than products with inorganic ingredients.

My experience with Montan Wax is mostly with using HD Quick Express Wax.
I find the results and protection to be quite good.

I will also say that you need to be careful and make sure to apply Montan Wax on a cool surface, and not in direct sunlight.
I have had issues with flash drying and leaving spots that have to be polished out when using on hot panels and in direct sunlight.
Who knows, it may not be the wax itself, but other ingredients in the product.
Just letting you know.
