I have been using a regular Car-Wash Brush from Costco over the years getting new ones often, rinsing them before/after to get rid of debris. I just came across the Boar's Hair brush, is this the better option would it reduce swirling and scratching when washing cars or will it still create the same with either brush. I do know wash mitts are the best and I do use them most of the time but on big trucks I use a brush to get the roof etc. Thanks

I bought the Griot's wash mop stick kit to use on my truck.

The kit comes with two (removable/washable) MF mop heads, and I bought 2 more. The handle extends out to just under 7 feet.

I really like it. No more having to use a step when washing, and the super-soft mop heads are easy on paint.

i have seen those before, but isn't it annoying when the head keeps spinning and does it fit in a regular 5 gallon bucket?

The head only pivots 180 degrees on one plane (Side to side)

And at 10"x6" it fits very well into a bucket.

I do not use this to wash the entire truck. Just the roof, back window, windshield, and middle of the hood. Things I had to use a step or ladder on beforehand.

Thanks for that PaulMys. I saw the Boar's Hair brush is good but you have to soak it for 5 minutes before you use it. Some people scratch there cars and its $150. Super expensive.

Same here, Easy to do top of our SUVs...

Skys the limit has a nice set-up also. The pad area has a extra sponge type which makes the pad area softer.

You can use Griots pads on this..

So besides the griots mop stick, let's get back to the Boar's Hair brush, Any one have feedback?

Here's my take on this. I do not wash/detail for a living, just my vehicles and some friends/family, so take my comment with a grain of salt.

I bought the Montana Brush many years ago from AG to use on my Yukon. It was a work DD and white and the paint was reasonably hard. If I was super gentle it did not appear to swirl much. The paint was well maintained but my goal was to get a large vehicle washed as quickly as possible with minimal damage.

I tried using it on darker colored sedans and I did notice it marred it up a bit. Some of the panels were resprays so I'm sure the paint was softer.

I have a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee in dark metallic gray. It is my business vehicle and while it looks pristine to others, my main goal is to keep it looking good with minimal effort. I use the brush often with no markings at all. However, the paint is very hard and since it has metallic in it I suppose it masks any micro marring.

If I was starting over I would probably get the Griot's MF mop head since it's most likely safer. However, I have never used it so I can't comment first hand.

What city do you live in? Maybe someone on this forum that lives near you could let you try their's to see how it works. If you lived in AZ I'd gladly let you try mine out.

Good luck on your decision.

thank you Wknd Dtlr. Im trying to reduce swirling all together that's what i was really looking to see the difference from a synthetic to boars hair but it seems as if for $140 it is the same thing as a $15 one.

I would say that mop is safer too since it’s basically like a mitt on a stick. I could never stomach the idea of using a brush on paint but that’s just me. Many folks apparently are happy with theirs.
