Howdy, I was wondering if there was a more eco friendly approach to detailing engines. Would it be collecting runoff and disposing of it at a waste center, steaming an engine bay, or would the best option be to use alot of towels and degreaser minimizing water run off?

Only eco way I know of detailing an engine bay is spraying and wiping the most visible engine parts cleaning also steam cleaning is pretty eco too though if this is your personal car I Would do a traditional engine detail then every month just spray the engine bay with a all purpose cleaner and wipe and if you want add or refresh the dressing of choice lastly you could place a few oil pans or old towels undernieth the engine bay to catch/soak up engine runoff ...just my eight cent

Foaming APC, some brushes, lots of towels

I used steam before to clean the engine bay
