i am going to try the Nanoskin iron remover spray as it's quite a deal but what else is out there that is a great deal for gallon sizes and effective on paint (vs. solely wheels)? there is a massive price difference between a lot of the products on the market and i am not entirely sure how that translates to quality with this particular type of product.

btw, i bought in a long while back on a close out of the original Sonax Full Effect - it's be nice to be able to use that on paint, even if i had to dilute it or something. at its core it can't be that different than the fallout remover. i don't know, i'll contact Sonax to start. I use Power Clean for wheels on a regular basis so i have no real use for this other than on rare occasion.

mebbe look at the new item Nick just posted........

A big magnet???

Seriously, between the known products that work - the price difference is only a dollar or two - unless you are buying in bulk.

come on guys, what kind of replies are these? i haven't posted in a while and this is what i come back to. sheesh.

i guess a gallon is considered bulk. i just bought a gallon made by a well known paint decon company for ~$45. Ferrex is $90 something. Iron-X is probably in that range too for a gallon.

that's a significant difference.

oh well, thanks anyway. i think i'm good now. i found what i need.

The GG HD wheel cleaner that I mentioned is I think $52/gallon here at AG, again, if you are comfortable using that on paint. But I guess that's moot now.

Very interested in the Nanoskin iron remover. A gallon is about the same price as a liter of Iron X.

Yeah! Iron X is expensive and it's a big cost factor. This should be interesting with this new product line.

Based on availability without having to dilute anything, take a look at 3D BDX. Retail is slightly higher than what you posted above but you can order it in larger containers. The next recommendation would be a 5L of Sonax Fallout Remover. This will retail around $125 for 1.3+ gallons.

There are a couple of economical
..."A,B,C"..."Step(s) 1,2,3"...
Decon-systems on the market.

BDX is very cost effective and effective without the harsh odor. Available in many different sizes too:

I like BDX, but for paint decon an iron remover is second place to a decon system.

I use 3d bdx as its low odor and good price help. Second for bad spots is iron x gel/paste

I used the Nanoskin Iron remover once and never again. Huge waste of money. I did a side by side with Iron X and it barely removed any iron contamination. I had to finish the car with Iron X. Was trying to find something more economical when I came across Nanoskin but in the end I got taken. The YouTube commercial I saw is obviously false advertisement because it didn't come close to working as stated.

I have been going through a good amount of iron removal product lately and just did a quick cost analysis. The Iron X 1 liter worked out to $1.00 per ounce and i use anywhere from 2-4 ounces per vehicle. The 4 liter bottle worked out to about .73 cents per ounce. 3D BDX worked out to 50 cents per ounce for the 128 ounce bottle. That is before any discounts that can be applied here at AG.

Thank you for this! What is your opinion on which one works better and easier to use?

I have been using Iron X but a more cost effective product that works the same or better would be great!

Good question and i won't know until i try BDX. I still have some Iron X left and i was doing some research to lower my increasing cost of iron remover for when i reorder something soon. Having run those numbers though i will absolutely be buying BDX on my next order. I should say that i do like Iron X and i am simply looking to lower my costs though. If it turns out i need to use twice as much or more of BDX then i will go right back to Iron X.
