Coming in early 2019 I believe. Looks interesting.

Introducing Mothers CMX™ Ceramic Spray Coating, an affordable, userfriendly, professional grade, ultradurable, super-hydrophobic protection formula. Just spray on and wipe off, with this game-changing SiO2 (Silicon Dioxide) and TiO2 (Titanium Dioxide) blend. This powerhouse combo provides ultra long-term protection from the elements and relentless water beading, without sacrificing true optical clarity, extreme depth and that signature ceramic glass-like liquidy-gloss appearance. Use as a stand-alone product, or as a booster over your existing sealant or ceramic coating. Washing and caring for your vehicle has never been easier.

I knew the big mfgs would get in on this, should be interesting, especially with that additional chemical added.

Do I need this, no...will I buy and try it, you bet

Going to pick some up as soon as I can get my hands on some. Mother's stuff is usually excellent.

Being a fan of coatings, I think it's great.

Gonna bring easily obtained benefits to a much wider audience. Will probably be comparable to some other SiO2 spray sealants/toppers as far as longevity goes but casual driveway guy will probably use every few weeks so longevity is likely moot really.

Woulda loved having something like this 15 years ago.

I remember a detail day we had here in Chicagoland about 4 years ago and Mothers provided us with some products to giveaway as well to use (thank you again Mothers, you came through for us twice, along with Autogeek, thank you AG as well) One of those products that blessed me/us away was their clearcoat safe rubbing compound. It corrected a hammered finish on an older Corolla, very impressive and I'll always remember that.

Sad thing is that us enthusiasts, for the most part, look past big brands due to the fact their sold OTC and we seem to put our noses up to them, myself included. That said this new CMX product is a great idea by Mothers, maybe a giveaway is coming for us to try it out, good pub IMO

I’m looking forward to this one. On the Mother’s Forum they are saying to expect one year durability. Even if it is half that I would be happy. It’s good to see some of the big boys jump on the SiO2 train making it accessible to the general public.

I still use Mothers products because of that Detail Day.
That was a fun day!

We need another one if those but more along the lines of bring stuff to show and show off to others, maybe you can set something up like that on Chicago Garage and have the guy with the white FoST film it for his channel. This bring out the geeks, like myself for sure and I know there's enough cars on that site that could benefit greatly from our experience for sure

It is not to be used as a drying aid -- it should be applied to a clean, dry surface as its own process.

Isn't this what they all say(kinda) and we use them as drying aids anyway.
That would be the first thing I do and blow my car up.

A detail day in Chicago? Count us in!

Thanks Forrest, greatly appreciated!

Could you tell us about application of this product, there seems to be some possible confusion. I ask because most of these products are to be applied to a wet car, after washing, just spray on, let it sit for a short period of time and rinse IN the protection and shine, how is THIS product applied?

For maximum longevity you wash, clay and polish (as needed for defect removal), then do an IPA wipedown to remove any oils. Spray product on and buff. Let cure for 24 hours. Here are te actual directions from the bottle:

1. Begin with a clean, cool and dry surface.
2. Ensure the paint is free of any paint defects. You may need to clay and polish.
3. Remove any surface oils with isopropyl alcohol.
4. Working in small sections, sparingly spray CMX onto surface.
5. Buff with a clean microfiber towel.
6. If product drying occurs, reapply and buff while wet.
7. Allow product to cure for 24 hours.

It's not a ceramic spray booster, it's a coating - just in a spray form instead of liquid. The mainstream market has been moving away from liquids for a few years. Liquid sales are down 10% + year over year the past 3 years, while sprays are growing. We created our coating to have the ease of use of spray, but with a real ceramic coating life.

Forrest - Will this effect microfiber towels at all? Harden them or anything like that? Thanks!

Can't wait to read the Amazon reviews were a whole bottle is used and they get steaks (high spots).

Forrest-When and where will we be able to purchase this item? The sooner the better!

And bring back the Mother’s Foam Leather Cleaner, please!

Thanks for the insight. Does this include liquid paste sealants too? I never thought there was firm delineation for what defines a coating anyways. We have detail sprays on the market now basically calling themselves coatings.

Can this product be reapplied on top of itself? Meaning can you refresh the product without another polish and prep wipe?

I predict it will be OTC for a short time period then disappear from the shelves. It will probably be too pricey for OTC and then survive as niche online retail product due to some loyal fans. I'll definitely give a try.
