Greetings All,

On a scale of 1 to 10 - 10 being excellent - Just how well does the Mothers PowerBall Mini work on Rims (Clear Coated) and other "As Advertised" parts of a car?

Thanks,

Ray

Mothers PowerBall Mini is a great tool and no one should be without it....

I give it 9/10.........:props:

IMO:
All of Mothers Powerball products rate a 10!!

The powerball were out of stock when I was looking so I purchased Mother's Powercone last year. It worked excellent on removing the swirls from my clearcoated rims (long hours of course)

I have the meguiars cone and I think it works great, something to consider.

Would the power balls works on aluminum? My dads bike if polished aluminum and chrome. The aluminum takes tons of elbow grease to get shining... Would the ball or cone work at shining up the aluminum?

All of the powerballs and cones are must have, especially for wheel detailing. Can be used with a variety of polishes/compounds.

I just recently cleaned my wheels via Powerball and cone using M205, and then Poorboys White Diamond Glaze with great results. Used that stuff just because I had it on hand. Used Pinnacle Spray Sealant aftewards with great success.
Seems to work better than the wheel glazes as far as keeping wheels cleaner, longer. Sorry drifted off topic there a bit.

Hi Anthony,

Power Balls will work on coated and non-coated wheels alike. You might find you have to clean it more often but that's part of the process...:props:

Okay thanks man. Can I use it with say flitz or simichrome? Hell even mother's mag and aluminum polish?

Yes you can! Just use some all purpose cleaner to wash it then rinse thoroughly...

Just pick a polish that's appropriate for the finish of the rim, and you'll be fine.

BTW, high speed is not needed - 150-300 rpm is more than enough.

Bobby, what all purpose cleaner do you use? Do you rinse with a hose? Or do you put it in the washing machine?

Thanks,

Ray

Disassemble the foam element from the retainer/extension. Wash the foam with warm water and a suitable cleaner (some use a diluted APC, I prefer Dawn dish washing liquid).

Squeeze the foam element like you were cleaning a foam pad, then rinse under running water until the water is clear.

Allow the foam to dry completely, then reassemble.

Note, the foam element of both the PowerBall and PowerBall Mini are reversible, so to extend its life rotate it every use/cleaning.

I don't know if it's local to my one store or if anyone else can replicate the deal but I grabbed a pair of them for $7. Also the regular power ball was $7 but I don't see any use for it.

Sorry I just saw this. It was Walmart and another local Walmart did not have any in stock so I can't confirm if it's local to that one store or not
