here is the bike 99 bmw , full fairings. ( pic is just for example)
after wash and claybar , i went with rotary and 105 on 3in cutting pad follow by da and 205 on 3in polish pad - so 2 step correction
no chrome involved , just a good clean up here and there and s100 as protection.
the clear shield got polished in and out same as paint.
the side bags were plastic and removed when polish.
the bike is not swirl free but shine like crazy and minimal random scratches.

the whole detail took me around 4 hours and i ask $200 as i estimate around 5-6 hours work.
my client said ... aww is a bike , is too much.
the client liked my work and i got paid what i ask for . i know what process i did and i charge for correction , but still i would like to have some input from you guys , how much you charge for same process i did.
to me a bike should be a little less than a car when comes to correction but still a lot of work.
thank you

what do you normally charge per hr? that is how i would determine what to charge for motorcycle work. fair to you and the client

i go with min $30 when not machine polisher involved ( means interior work , wash wax )
in this case was 2 steps correction and a min $40 up to $60.
i estimate an 5 hour job ( i usually estimate a little bit more as time just in case i run into any issues)
but people see motorcycle as small and shouldn`t be that expensive , but they don`t see that you actually bring the paint like new with multiple steps and you follow a process that takes hours.

i am just wonder what other people opinion on this subject is , how much would you charge

Bikes are a pain in the a s s to work on; I should know I've had one for the last 11 years. Lots of bending down, lots of intracate work into nooks and crannies. I have a lift for mine which makes working on it a lot easier. (In fact I was bleeding my clutch lines today and had it on the lift for that). Charge for your time. The vehicle is irrelevant.

:iagree: I charge $30-$40 an hr for polish work. seems fair to me!

u are right, motorcycle are a pain. it helps to have stands or a lift(if you are a baller!). i use stands for my sport bike and it makes working on the chrome wheels so much easier! unfortunately they wont work on cruiser style bikes. i have only detailed one other bike other than mine and it was a cruiser. lots of moving it to get the full rim.
