I have a full faced helmet. Is there a good way (product) to wax the shield before I start using it? I would like to make a more "slick" surface to try and make it easier to get the bugs off when I am done riding and for the rain to repel off. Otherwise, the helmet itself has klasse sealer, Collinite insulator wax and a topping of souveran..

Thanks Feed back please

DP PlexAll will work great, and very reasonably priced- it's on BOGO now!

I used Rain-X on my face shields and my windshields for years. It made it much easier to keep them clean without inducing scratches. It's also fun to watch the beads flow when you get caught in the rain.

Yeah, basically I want a product to coat the clear shield so bugs wipe off and water beads off.

I will take your suggestions as they all sond very good!

Thanks

Can I use megs plast-x on the face shield? I honestly never even thought of waxing my helmet but that sounds like a good idea. I have an arai and I need to make that puppy last for how much I spent on it lol

I've never tried Plast-X, but I see no reason why it wouldn't be fine for shields. I still have a large supply of the old Meg's Plastic Cleaner and I've used that successfully for everything: eyeglasses, goggles, face shields, bike windshields etc., etc. As I mentioned earlier, my LSP was Rain-X. After a day on a tour, a wipe with a damp washcloth from the motel would have my shield and windshield ready for the next day's ride. I believe Plast-X is more aggressive than my M17 Cleaner since it was designed with headlight polishing in mind, but I've never heard of an issue with it leaving scratches or swirls.
I used Classic Slipstream on my helmet to both clean off remaining bug guts and protect. It's long since been discontinued, but any good cleaner wax should work fine.

Yeah, Im trying to figure out the best way to "detail" my helmet lol I have so many products and the helmet could probably use some rejuvenation. I just bught a new bike, now I want my helmet looking new too. What would you guys recommend as a process?

APC 10:1 to clean
Megs Ultimate polish for fine swirls
Megs D151 or Opt Poli-Seal
Collinite 845

Should I skip the D151 after the polish and go straight to the collinite?
