I live on Long Island and still without power. I waited an hour earlier in the day and was not able to get gas. I was able to find a gas station that was open, but was giving gas to the employees of the hospital next door. I learned that if I got a car wash I was able to fill up. Well I got some swirls, but I also got some well needed gas and didn't have to wait an hour like I had already earlier in the day.

Hey I'm on LI also. Gas lines are still bad if you drive up. But to fill small gas cans the lines are short now (since so many people have power restored). I waited 5 mins yesterday to fill a red can which went right into my truck. Definitely recommend that route

also, use the gas buddy. very helpful. search by your zip and it tells you who has gas (do we really even care about the price at this point?)

good luck! I just got power back 2 days ago

A very small concession given the gravity of the situation....:props:

Look at it another way; now you'll have opportunity to fine tune your technique!! :dblthumb2:
