My Dad's 1965 Ford Thunderbird Convertible

Once in a while I reference my Dad's 1965 Ford Thunderbird, usually in reference to claying in the context that a bar of detailing clay will last longer when used on a car that is garage kept and well maintained versus a car that has not been clayed in a long time and is parked outside.

I know it's easy for most of to figure this out but some Newbies for some reason don't understand why a clay bar doesn't last forever when claying their old, dirty, neglected finish.

Anyway, here's a picture of his Sunday Cruiser...

That's what I picture my Dad's old T-Bird looking like. He had it as a kid and got rid of it long before I was even a thought, but he has a lot of stories about his old T-Bird. It was a white convertable like your Dad's. The next time I talk to him I'll see if he has any old pictures. :xyxthumbs:

Wow Mike, shes lovely ! Long, low, sleek & elegant ! Love those rims !

Have you worked your magic on her ? :buffing:

Why arent the rims in the same direction? the driver side doesnt match the passanger side?

Nah... Dad knows his way around a car with a buffer plenty good without my help...

I"m not sure... the car is approximately 3000 miles from me but I can ask my Dad...

:)

they look like they are directional....need to be rotated to correct sides

Most aftermarket and OEM wheels that have a twist to them are not directional. When you buy custom made wheels like HRE, INTRO, BONSPEED or BOZE you can get them directional so the wheels on each side of the car will match. Mike your Dad owns a sweet ride.

You're father has one nice looking Bird there Mike!

Seeing that car reminds me of the movie Thelma & Louise. :props:

My Dad had a new top installed on his 1965 Ford Thunderbird and e-mailed me a couple of pictures from when it was used to drive Miss Oregon in the 2013 Rods & Rhody's Parade.

I REALLY like 'old school' striping! Just a touch can really set off a vehicle (in my eyes).

Nice ride! I got to move a '64 T-Bird once, only about 20 feet, but it was a thrill for an 18 year old. (even if I darn near put myself through the windshield with the power disc brakes, lol).
