and it was on my 2005 Honca Civic daily driver... i owned this car for almost a year now and by the amount of water and bird bomb etchings i'm guessing it's never been polished by machine.

Products Used:

Optimum Power Clean
Dawn
Megs Clay Kit
PC DA 7424XP
LC 5.5 inch foam flat pads (orange and white)
Optimum Hyper Polish
DG 105/601
DG Aquawax
Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant
Megs BDB
Megs Gold Class Endurance High Gloss Tire Gel
Cobra MF towels

Before i get started, i just want to let everyone know, i know the lighting in the pictures is bad, it's just one of those things which will get better now that i have some halogen lights.

Here is a pic of the civic all taped up Friday evening... At this point the car was already washed with OPC and Dawn and clayed with megs clay kit.

Pic of the trunk deck lid.. if you look into and around the light, you can see the condition of the paint... this is what the paint looked like all over the car.

Sunday morning i went to Busy Beaver after church and got some halogen lights! Here is the drivers side door after correction with Hyper polish and topped with DG 105/601 and then topped with Aquawax 12 hours after the DG 105 was applied.

Drivers side door with trim... the wolfs trim and tire did a great job bringing out the black on the trim!

So saturday while i was cleaning the windows and applying the Aquawax on my civic it was raining and i decided to snap a few beading pics of the truck... the truck was waxed on 9/25/2011... so this beading was after having the DG 501/601 105/601 combo and 845 applied 6 months ago... 'freshened' up 2 or 3 times since then with Aquawax.

In all, i'm very happy with the correction i got out of the combo i used on the civic... i know i will get better with practice and i can't wait to see what i can do with the paint on my truck... i'm thinking maybe some poli-seal might be in my future then maybe some cquartz.

Thanks for lookin at my :Picture: guys!

The Civic turned out great duck.:props:

I know how much you were worried about your first attempt, but now you can say its over.

I did the exact same car this weekend getting it ready to trade so obviously it was not to the extent yours was. I was amazed with meguires D151 reconditioning creme, using a GG6 and a orange pad. So easy to clean up this car...

Looks great! No better way of finding out how products/methods work then doing your own vehicles!

Nice job! How much did the halogen lamps cost you? I need to get some and there is a Busy Beaver up the street

Fantastic job on the ride!!! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the nice comments guys!

Matt - the lights were $69.00 + tax

Nice job! I accomplished my first shot at a pro-type detail on my Camaro 2 weeks ago. I used the PC too. I found it quite easy to work with. It's satisfying to see results. Now I'm looking to practice deeper correction on my '99 Lumina.

thanks HSJ.... a 99 lumina huh... i hope you get us some before and after pictures!!! You are correct, it is satisfying to see these types of results, however on the way to work yesterday a tri-axle coal truck came flying past me on the 4 lane, and wouldn't you know it, his load was not covered and gravel dust was blowing everywhere... guess what my car looked like when i got to work?! LOL... oh well, atleast the paint was clean for 2 days! LOL

My car looked sweet for one day. Some bonehead throw a rock from the freeway overpass and dinged up the roof. Only about 500 miles on this new car. Still waiting to hear from the body shop; might pick it up Friday. I have a sweet Corsa cat-back that the UPS guy just dropped on my porch. Talk about anticipation!

ohhh, you're the guy who started that thread.... ok, i read about it the day you posted about the rock or brick smashing your roof :(

i guess not even the PC can get your roof back to tip top shape. (little humor to soften you up :) )
