1984 AMC Eagle. It has a single stage Almond Beige original paint job that has definitely seen better days.

It is his winter beater, so he didn't care to do a full correction on the whole car, but he did give me free reign to play with a few spots and learn about Single stage paint.

I only did 4 spots after he washed it, and didn't spend a whole lot of time doing it, as he got bored.

I used the following products.

-Nanoskin green apple Bubble Bath
-Nanoskin microfiber towels
-Nanoskin autoscrub 7" towel
-Nanoskin Glide lube
-Nanoskin Formula 67 polish
-Nanoskin Microbuff yellow pads
-Nanoskin Microbuff black pads
-Nanoskin Microbuff blue pads
-Nanoskin Speed Cut compound
-Nanoskin Nanoceramic sealant
-Meguire's Water Magnet waffle weave drying towel
-Porter Cable 7424XP
-Grit Guard's for 2 bucket method
-Autozone microfiber wash mitt
-Citrus degreaser
-Mothers Mag and Aluminum polish.

It was filthy when he showed up, lots of grease everywhere from him touching it while replacing the transmission, so first thing I did was to spray a very diluted citrus degreaser on some of the bad spots.

After I sprayed it with degreaser, He rinsed the whole car, then used Nanoskin Green Apple Bubble Bath and 2 bucket method and grit guards, then dried it with a Meguires Water Magnet.

I then decontaminated the areas with a 7" Nanoskin Autoscrub Handy Towel and Nanoskin Glide.

Once that was done, I used a NSMB(NanoSkin MicroBuff) 5" black pad and Speed Cut to get rid of most of the deep scratches in the paint.

Correction Step 2 was done using a NSMB Yellow pad and Formula 67.

I finished it off with Nanoskin Nanoceramic sealant using a NSMB blue pad.

I cleaned up the front bumper using Mothers Mag and aluminum polish and a MF applicator pad and elbow grease.

Here are the pictures.

50/50's

He was very happy, but didn't have the desire or time for me to do the whole car, but it was a lot of fun doing the 50/50's and seeing the difference I was able to make on the spots that I did do. I know it isn't perfect, but I am still learning, and this was only my 2nd time using a Machine polisher.

Enjoy!

Nice outcome with those 50/50 its sad how people don't care to much about classic cars and how they don't get the same rush and enjoyment as we do but maybe after this he will get into car detailing you never know but keep up the great work though

Nice job, I noticed you're using the new Nanoskin products, but mentioned you're relatively new at this. Have you any experience with other products? If so, how would you compare the Nanoskin line to others? If you started straight with the Nanoskin products, what are your thoughts?

He has a 2003 Camaro Convertible that he actually takes care of, but he bought this with bad paint as a winter beater, so as long as it stays washed, it's not a big deal to him. It has rust holes on it, so I'm not sure I would want to spend the time on it if I were him either.

ding dong

You have a dirty mind, you

I've never used anything else other than Nanoskin and generic off the shelf washes and waxes. Going straight to Nanoskin, I am VERY happy with their lineup.

Their Hydrophobic wax is FAR better than anything that you can buy off the shelf. It has a deeper shine than Meguires Gold, and that was my favorite OTS wax. It also beads for months, and water just runs off of it.

They also use much better bottles and sprayers than anything OTS, and most of their lineup has some sort of pleasant scent, which is nice when working in a small garage.

Must be pretty rare considering they stopped production of f bodies in 2002.

Car turned out nice.

bwahahahahaha, looks like I need to write down years of cars when people tell me. I just asked him again. It's a 2000. My B. lol

Yes, that is his car for sale, took those pictures in my driveway.
