My New Merino Wool Sheepskin DUO Wash Mitt a matted mess

As above get a brush to brush the mitt when wet. Before next use dip it in the car soap solution and massage it. Then rinse it out with cold water and brush it. Do the same after the wash rinse thoroughly with cold water and brush it. Lay it face down on a clean grit guard to let it dry. You can swung out some excess water before drying. An option is to hung it up and dry also. When dryed use brush with bristles that are a little wider apart to fluff it up. You may also want to get another wash mitt to the lowest part of the car and use your wool mitt to the the rest. When wool mitts gets really dirty jobs they are hard to get really clean afterwards. As is the pre rinse or even a prewash very important to do thoroughly. To help you get the most gentle wash possible.

I love the wool mitts, but you gotta wash them by hand, brush them, take them for walks, give them mitt food, potty train them. Not really efficient for production work or even doing a couple cars a day. But I certainly use it on my personal cars or anything with really good paint

Yep... need a pet brush and brush it out just like a pet.

I share this tip on page 25 of "The Complete Guide to a Show Car Shine"

I've suggested in the past that we bring in a pet brush that works great for these types of mitts and sell it with the mitts so people have the right tool to keep their mitts in good working condition... otherwise they are a matted up mess.

:)

Lol.

Maybe he could take it to the groomers. :)

after my mitts dry (wool/mf) i use a pet brush that is metal (like below) that have firm teeth/rake where they won't break off like other typical pet brushes normally would. just slowly comb/detangle and they will fluff/straighten out...
