This car is my sisters 1998 Mercury Grand Marquis. It had been owned by older people previously and I could tell no maintenance was done to the paint at all. There were a lot of scratches and swirls, I did not get the best before pics. I think if I wet sanded a little, it would have been perfect, but my sister was not concerned with perfection, she just wanted it to look better than it did. The dealer she bought it from did not even detail it for her, interior or exterior. The correction really brightened the paint up. I had to wear shades looking at in direct sun. So here was my process for the exterior:
Wash
Remove tar with Meguiars Body Solvent
Clay bar paint with Meguiars mild
M105 with heavy cut wool pad
M205 with foam pad
3m Ultrafine with 3m pad
LSP Collinite 845

Nice change!!! I need to detail my grandparents Maroon Grand Marquis. Theirs is an '04. I will only worry about the exterior since my uncle is the only one who drives it. Since he has a disability, the leather seats on the driver side is gone. The car only has 40k miles on it.

Again, nice correction.

Stephen
