First thing I'd like to say is that I really enjoy this forum! A lot of great tips and products. Checked out my DEIONIZER system that I rigged up! I love it, and I just ordered the pressure washer foam cannon, now thats gonna be fun!

Can you please give more info on the DI system. Brand, ball park prices, links, etc......

Edit, never mind, I jumped the gun and posted this before all the pics uploaded...lol
I see the close-up shot, 2nd pic, w/ the info I needed...

and by the way.... Welcome to AG!

Very nice lay out, so neat too. I've had my eyes on a few deionize systems and some one recommended this particular brand. Please keep me posted oh what you think of the systems, what's good about it, what's bad about it ect...ect.

Oh yes, welcome to AutoGeek.

That is one impressive looking setup. Are you a plumber? What kind of pressure washer is that? Does it stay hooked to the wall? I love the house reel!

So nicely organized and with labels! Can you come set up my garage?! LOL!

Looks very, very nice. How much was the di filter part and what do you estimate the per gallon cost?

That is awesome! I wish I had that kind of a setup! More info please :)

EDIT: And welcome to the board

My Thoughts

Well it all began when I first got the Mr. Clean Autodry wash system, I was pretty amazed that the car dried spotless. So I did some online research and the whole trick of the Mr. C.A.D is the filter, a mini DEIONIZER, I thought it always was the soap that did the trick. Anyway I ended up with a "PRO" version, "On the Go" Deionizer. So far no complaints what so ever. The cars come out SPOTLESS, I'll explain how its works-->

--> Dissolved minerals are the culprit for water spotting after rinsing, deionization units have a resin that removes negatively charged ions, such as Fluorides, in the process. The result is mineral-free water that leaves no water spotting after rinsing.

I live in Southern Ontario, the water here is 400 TDS that is very high, the unit comes with a TDS meter, after the deionizer the water reads 003, before is 375, wow takes all the crap out. I have a water softner in the house aswell, it helps with the DI unit, I connected an extra filter unit before the Di unit just to give it that extra clean approach. That was totally my idea, so I guess its not really recommended!! I paid 330 CAD for the unit from On the go (with shipping). According to On the go If I rinse my cars off within 2 minutes of use from the DI unit, I should get about 80 rinses, just monitor with the meter thay supply you, heres what the readings should be:

Excellent level-- Less than 15PPM TDS
Satisfactory-- Greater than 15PPM but less than 50PPM TDS
Poor--Greater than 50PPM TDS

I beleive in the U.S the TDS is not so high so you'll get way more rinses, it is $40-$50 for the replacement resin. It takes me less the 2 minutes and then I use my leaf blower, what can I say SP:DTLESS!!!!!!!!!!

I didn't realize how bad the water was in Ontario. Thank you for sharing your input on this, looking forward on receiving my DI unit.

That thing is pretty cool. Might have to look into it since my kit from AG just isnt cutting it! The filter before the DI is a great idea. Is it another water softener filter, or a sediment filter? And what psi and GPM is the pressure washer you're using with this DI filter?

The only SLIGHTLY negative thing about that DI kit is the light has to be plugged in, doesnt run on a battery. Thatll make it a little bit of a pain for me to use. But Ive got a TDS meter already, so it wont be a big deal, Ill just have to check it manually.

My pressure washer is a Karcher it is 1200psi at 1.8GPM, The Di recommends a max of 2 GPM. The filter before the DI unit is a sedimiment filter (just for a bit extra filtration).

Dan, the light meter is an option. Did not come with mine, the manufacture recommends the portable meter!

Bubbabuff - I have a question for you, did you by any chance look at the CRSpotless DI filter system? I have narrowed it down to these two systems the one you got and the CRSpotless system. Any feed back would be greatly appretiated.

Damn, my pressure washer is 2400psi, 2.5GPM.

Just got a reply from them. They said itll work with my pressure washer. But for max performance they suggest 1- 1.5GPM.

Can you please tell me what the specs are on your pressure washer and a TDS reading of the water when it comes out of the pressure washer.

Yes I looked into the crs spotless system, they are based in California, but do have a Canadian distibutor (can't remember their website) anyway they were way over priced, so I decided to go with the "ON THE GO" cause the Cad. dollar is very strong and exchange rate was good! Again my PW has 1200 psi and is 1.6 GPM.

Alright, thanks, sorry if I missed it.

Are your TDS readings before or after the pressure washer?
