First and foremost. This is all 100% a thanks for BobbyG. Ive most likely sent him over 100 PMs asking all kinds of newbie questions that I could have searched for, but for me at least, it was easier to process from a one on one. I know for a fact that he repeated his self multiple times and never got a " Just search" reply or a " We already went over that " reply. There are other great guys on here that have helped me and BobbyG is one of them for sure.

This is what I bought as my first order, again assembled based off of BobbyG's recommendations. ( This list would be VERY helpful for the other new guys coming here asking the same thing, a newbie's detailing kit )

I did end up returning the MF correction kit only because it is said to not be used in the sun. I dont have access to much shade and definitely none where I live. So I opted for the PoorBoys line of compounds. Sure some say you still cant use it in the sun. I did what I could do ( started early, took breaks mid day etc etc ) For me an average joe looking to pep up his daily driver paint, I think i did turn out good. There are TONS of deeper scratches that the compounds just cant really touch, especially with a DA.

So I did end up buying the Mastercut ( for the deeper stuff ), SSR2, and SSR1. I also did end up buying some 3" pads and the 2 7/8 backing plate from Griots, another LC 6 pad pack ( different colors ), Gummi Pfledge ( rubber protector ), ONRWW ( for QD/drying aid ), Optimum spray wax ( just another spray wax ), I also bought some hand pads from LC ( same colors as the screen shots ), Opti-coat, and some of the red LC wax applicators and the yellow ones from Pinnacle.

This truck has been a long time coming and all thanks to BobbyG. Thanks man, i truly appreciate it.

Here is the truck. It was in rough shape prior to this, all swirled up etc. Sorry no before pictures.. Never thought of it.

Good looking truck!! You really dont realize how big they are until you do your first full detail!!

You bet , my late father had a 4 door 1 ton Ford PU Dually , when washing it , it seemed like a tanker ! lol

Bobby helped me too quite a bit when I became a new member here.

Of course I am not a newcomer to car care, as I'm 58 years old, and been detailing cars since 15-16, I found there was still so much new to learn.

Bobby and I mostly discussed equipment-hardware, and he helped me along to make some sound wise purchases that would serve my personal needs.

He helped set me on the right path again, I cannot tell you how many posts and discussions I've discreetly read in my spare time that he provided here.

BTW, the truck looks great! I can see you've found the right path as well!

True , BobbyG s a pretty helpful guy around , other people also , they must have been telling themselves that youm were in good helping hands .

I always washed my own cars. Im 24 and this is my "dream" truck if you will. Some may roll their eyes, but this is what I wanted for a long time. Its the King Ranch f250 powerstroke. I LOVE the interior, and thats even harder to maintain haha ( unprotected Aniline lol.. ) But I love how soft it is and the color/texture.

PLus the truck only had 36k on it when I found it... 36k on an 06 King Ranch without cracked or stained etc interior? I think this is what Ive been waiting for. Someone ( however you wanna look at it ) put me in the right time right place on that one... p.s. Im sure some may be thinking, but Mommy and Daddy didnt get this for me, this is me working like an Honest American and putting in man hours.

The truck still has orange peel and I dont know if its possible to get rid of that with a DA but I would bet its going to take me more time then its worth to an everyday guy.

I forgot to give props to Chris at PBs ( I had called him asking his recommendations ) for the Mastercut, SSR2 and SSR1 recommendations. Another great guy willing to answer all of my questions over and over without a hitch.

good job ! now, if u enjoyed the transformation of your truck be ready for a lifelong hobby . better create that monthly budget for detail stuff . this can be addicting . I only wish that I myself would have started much earlier . this is my prob my most enjoyable hobby and most expensive too , lol . golf is pretty darn close too though . but that only takes up 1 bag , not 1 room .

and that bobby g , who dat ? ah forget it , anyone who visits ag regularly and doesn't know Bobby, your not visiting enough . this guy also was kind enough to get me going in the right direction . and if it was not for him , I'd still be using my craftsman buffer and tshirts . I can't thank this guy enough for introducing , guiding me into a hobby I love so much and I'll go till I just can't pick up that polisher anymore . he's on the upper east coast , it will prob never happen but i would love to meet him someday . along with bobby g , there are a handful on guys here I've learned a lot from , guys I trust if they recommend something or not . I got my forum favorites too . but hats off to u bobby g . thanks for helping us all

Hey Anthony,

WOW, your truck came out great! There's nothing better than when you step back and see what a lot of hard work and a few great products can do.

It was my pleasure helping you get started and now you have a true appreciation for what it takes to make a finish look great. I made a few recommendations to get you headed in the right direction but you my friend made it happen... :dblthumb2:

Awesome results and gorgeous photos!! :props:

That Bobby G., A real good guy. Great job on the truck and great advice on products Bobby.

Bobby G. is the gold standard and your truck looks superb!
Really nice to see how good advice translates into a finished product you can be very proud of :xyxthumbs:

You hooked up with the right guy for sure.

A 06 without ripped seats, cool! The previous owner must have looked after it as well. As for buying it yourself, congrats! My parents would give us kids loans with simple interest and a pay back schedule for out first car or truck. Miss a payment there was a warning, miss two the vehicle was gone. Watched others get stuff handed to them and then just destroy it.

Nice truck! You did a great job on it. I'm sure there's some product out there for your interior, but if not, Ford has it. The King Ranch package is awesome.

And, as Archie Bunker would say, ''BobbyG, you're a pip!''

Yeah, my parents never had the money so we always had to work. It makes you appreciate what you have ten fold. Im not saying helping kids is a bad thing, but we just didnt have that option.

What I use is the Leather Masters Vital, and the LeatherCPR too.

Way to go Bobby... and nice work MrOneEyedBoh

Heard this a million times... even point it out in this article...

The power in the after shots is created in the before shots

Next time...

Haha, thanks mike. Like I said there still is some orange peel ( Im okay with.. ) and some scratches that are just out of my hands but in the end its a daily driver that looks good moving by haha.

And thanks to all, :dblthumb2:

Hey Anthony,

I was just going over your photos again and you did a beautiful job, seriously! I was looking closely at the photo above and is that a scratch I see on the rear quarter or is it a reflection of something laying on the ground? I see there's a fence there and it could possibly be light coming under it.

The reason I ask is if it is indeed a scratch you can improve this with some touch-up paint or try a product call Dr Color Chip...

If it's simply a reflection then ignore my post and sit back and admire your truck...:props:

haha it is a reflection, but there are quite a few deeper scratches out there on the truck. the truck looks terrible now haha. It rains two days and pollen is stuck to the truck all over again. And I still see some swirls in the paint now, but not as much as before.

bobby g and mark [five point ] have both helped me out via pms and are some cool guys

Looks fantastic, I did notice there weren't any interior items in the cart and that King Ranch has some lucious leather for sure. Any plans to make over the interior and engine bay next?
