Mystery Sponge

Hello everyone, I received an order today and it had the word upgrade written on order sheet, i am not sure what was upgraded. I received a mystery set of sponges that are cut on each side, but not all the way around. I tried to find them online to see what they are used for, I didn't have any luck. Any ideas what these are for?

I use those for applying tire dressing. The separation between the sponges allows you to apply the the dressing using one side while holding the opposite side without the product penetrating the sponge and ending up all over your hand.
