Does anyone know if Mytee makes an attachment for carpet in the home for this model? I have a few apartments I manage and I was planning to rent a carpet cleaner to clean them after tennants left but if I could use this machine for those units and for my cars, that may justify the purchase price.

Also, it says the heater is 1000 watts. I assume the motor uses a large amount of power also. Would a 3000 Watt generator be enough for this?

Nevermind about the home carpet attachment, I went on the web and found the answer. Mytee does offer the attachment, but it is over $100

However, I do wonder if a 2000 watt generator would power it? Or would going to a 3000 watt generator be required?

I have this model and the floor attachment and use it for cars and my home. Works great.

So the Lite is powerful enough for home carpets also? I figured it may need the lift and PSI of its big brothers the HP60 or HP100.

I would go for the larger models if your primary purpose is home carpets but the lite will work. The tank is larger enough for one room at a time. If you load it with hot water it only takes a few minutes to reach the top temp.
The lite is very portable if you are taking the extractor on mobile details. The larger models are more powerful but not as mobile and not as fast to change the water.
The break away top tank is very handy.

This is a nice unit, but it's just too big for my mobile set up. I have a Aztec Hot Rod Hot Spotter. It fits into my truck. I would have to lay that unit down and it takes up alot of space. I guess if I had a van it would work. Then I wonder if my generator would be powerful enough to run it.

Is the break away tank available on all models or just the lite?

i believe that the larger mytees have a tilt/pour spout. check out their site or do a general search. some others on this board own the larger models i think. maybe they will chime in.
for a little more than the aztc/duramaid, i think the mytee lite 8070 is more versatile and runs longer.

HP60 is another fine machine, I have an Aztec Hot Rod and it has been awesome so far.

i know i responded to your question but guess it didn't make it.
i bought the lite model primarily for cars but it does work with the floor wand in the house and i use it on our carpets often. the larger models would be better but the size of the 8070 if perfect for me. the break away tank is very fast to change water and i can do a full room on one tank. the 8070 is very mobile and easily moved. not sure i would want to carry the larger models up and down our stairs.

The 2000 watt generator will not be enough. I have an 1800 watt and it doesnt supply enough power to run the heater, vac, and pump at the same time. I have to heat it then shut the heat off while I use the pump. When it gets cold I have to wait for it to heat again then I can turn the vac back on. I am sure 3000 watts would be plenty though.

My Mytee 8070 just ate a pump. A friend in the repair business tells me that this will continue. The machine is just over a year old. He tells me that they package it as a commercial machine, but that the pumps aren't any good. Only time will tell. It is the most expensive piece of equipment I have, I hope I'm not throwing good money after bad.
