Nanoskin Fine Clay Mitt or Towel

Hello,

I'm trying to decide between the Nanoskin Fine Clay Mitt or Towel.
Nanoskin AutoScrub Fine Grade Wash Mitt
Nanoskin Autoscrub Towel, clay towel
My thoughts are the Mitt will be easier for large areas and easier to rub back and forth but the towel might be easier for getting into smaller areas.

Is one definitely better than the other? (not looking at price, only functionality).

Thanks

I would get the towel, as I wouldn't wash and flip the towel to clay using dirty soap. I prefer to wash first and then clay with clean clay lube, less chance of marring your paint.

I use the wash mitt. I think it will be easier than the towel but i never used the towel.
You cant go wrong with the mitt. Just know one thing, If you use it on black paint be prepared to polish the
paint. You will definitely marr the paint with it.

Haven't tried the mit. I use the towel. Works great. Usually fold it in quarters and change sides frequently. I'm going to try the mit when the towel is used up

I have used the fine towel without a problem. Easier than clay bar. Keep my fine and medium clay bar when the towel just won't do the job though. Don't use the bar very often though.

Get the Griot's mitt. They work great. I've ised the red one twice and it's worked just as good as clay.

Definitely a time saver. I've used it with clay lube and a fresh wash bucket method and had little to no marring. (Except for black wich you will in most cases have sum type of light marr as asalesagent912 stated)

Thanks everyone. Sounds like ones not definitely better than the other. Kind of personal preference. I'd like to get both it they weren't so expensive :)

I have a mitt and a towel and I think I like the mitt better. Neither are the Nanoskin.

One worry I would have about the towel is it being left stored folded up and would stick together.

Why have you excluded the sponge from your choice?

I like the sponge because I can fill it with soapy water and squeeze a little bit out of it when needed. I just let it soak in the wash bucket while I clean the panel, then clay it with the sponge before I move to the next panel. It takes almost no extra time than a normal wash doing it this way... maybe 10 extra minutes for the whole car. Compare that to a dedicated clay process and you are saving at least 20 minutes and in some cases a lot more.

I like the fine grade sponges. I had issues with the medium grade ones marring paint. Never noticed any marring with the fine ones. Of course it might not be able to remove some type of heavy contamination... I guess it's a trade off. I have clay as a backup if the sponge can't do the work. But in almost all cases it works just fine.

I agree with Calendyr--the sponge works great and in only costs about $13. After my wash and rinse I'll do an IronX decontamination, rinse, then use the sponge with UWW+ as a lube rinsing the sponge after each section--much faster than clay. The fine grade sponge is plenty and leaves no marring behind.

The sponge is to easy and cheap, but lately I've fallen back to traditional in certain situations, depending on paint type

I have both the towel and the sponges. I like them both. I actually used the towel for only the first time, and its definitely quicker than the sponge, but the sponge is still quicker than clay. I actually just used my car wash soap water for the lubricant, dipped the towel right in the bucket and went to work. It was as easy as pie! Note, I was not worried about marring or scratching as the cars paint was already heavily scratched and I wasnt polishing it anyway, I Just wanted it clean and smooth. And this made that goal SUPER EASY! Im sold!

I have the pad and the sponge, both fine grade and love them both.

I bought snakeskin fine mitt BEFORE I read this thread ... for my BLACK Acura. Now I'm worried that I'll marr the finish like everyone is saying here.
Help! What should I do?

Chemical clay black bars are the best, fast cut no marring and cheap.apparently there sold out.opted for the sponge instead and it was sticking and dragging on a belair show car.reverted to some cg black clay that I had some left.when back in stock I will be ordering 20 packs of it.

The McKee's combo kit of the Cobra clay mitt, shampoo, (and an ounce of ONR I added) made "claying" my truck a breeze.

I know this thread was originally for nanoskin, but this combo was superb. Food for thought.
