I just purchased both the fine and medium Nanoskin wash mitts.

I have used the search function and read some of the posts on here...

What lube or soap is recommended? (didn't really see an answer)

Thanks

Nanoskin makes a product called Glide, which can be diluted into a clay lube. Or you could use any claylube.

You could also use your car soap while you wash the car but i would only do that if I were going to lightly polish after.

That's the correct answer. Anything that allows for some slipperiness between the paint and the rubber is what you want. I would wash the car first and remove all of the dirt from the finish if you were going to use car was suds (which is what I do). I keep the 7:1 spray bottle of Glide in my hands when I'm doing it in case the car dries before I can decon. I can do the whole car in 20-25 minutes.

If you got the wash mitt Blue or Red than the typical wash soap is all you need. I will Nanoskin after the first wash. I will fill the wash bucket up with a new batch of wash soap get it sudsy and nanoskin while the ride is still wet from the 1st rinsing. After the Nanoskin I will rinse and dry like a normal 2 bucket wash. IMO this is the best of the nanoskins as I don't have to worry about any lube. The wash soap is your lube.

BTW ANY Nanoskin will save you from typical clay bar time. The wash mitt reduces your time even further (IMO).

I like glide, I had a bad experience using just car soap as lube, lots of marring

I don't see a red mitt available anywhere?

Thanks for the replies. I will try it with my wash soap first. I have seen the video with the nanoskin autoscrub pad and I had been debating on getting those, but the idea of using liquid with the da polisher scared me.

Nanoskin makes a shampoo as well. It's not bad, it's been a while since I used it but great lubricity.

I usually only exclusively used nanoskin's glide lubricant with either the sponge or towels but today on my sisters car I tried that in conjunction with just a little extra lubricity from the remaining hyper wash soap I had from the wash. Worked fine, very lubricious though.
