Recommendation on the two; I plan on using once or twice per yr as conditions warrant. Will one last longer or work more efficiently? And is it best to use when the car is foamed or with a specific lubricant?
Thanks for any advice.

I've found the Nanoskin Sponge to be all I need since I'm only doing my cars. At $12.99 it's a bargain and really speeds up the claying process. It comes in both medium and fine. I use UWW+ as my lubricant and get no marring with the fine sponge.

Can't compare the two as I've only had experience with the Griots (fine) mitt. Definitely sped up the process for me, and has done a very good job using Speed Shine as the lube. I had tried the griots clay, which I found to be too soft.

I think you can't go wrong with either. I have nanoskin towel (fine) and it works great after 2-3 years. I used it last month and no issue. I only clay a handful of cars each year.

As for clay lube, there is a range of products you can purchase if you want to try them. I used to use ONR as clay lube (also have an unopened bottle of nanoskin clay lube) then I learned car soap is more than sufficient to serve as clay lube. Its been 2 and a half years since I used car soap for clay lube and there is no issue.

I use Nanoskin with soapy water. My process is I wash the vehicle first as most are pretty dirty. I then Iron-X it and rinse and then one last pass with the soapy water with a touch of waterless wash concentrate in it and I nano the entire vehicle. Love Nano mitts. Such a time saver and zero worries about folding in contaminants or anything. Just rinse it out good and go.
