Need a adaptor for buffer

Ok i have one of those craftsman buffers with the 1/2 in shaft. why they did that i have no idea. is there a adaptor i can get to get it up to the standard shaft so i can use any pad?
 
provide a pic of the buffer, if its one with those big 12 inch heads it does not have enough power for polishing and best for wax application and removal.
 
looks like a rotary, might wanna call in and see if Meghan or Jason can see if Edge / Makita / or standard rotary adapter would work.
 
Unfortunately, we do not have an adapter for that polisher. We have DA adapters which have a 5/16" drive, and our rotary adapters have a 5/8" drive. Nothing with a 1/2" drive, unfortunately.
 
Damn figures i have it rigged now to use the bigger pads but i can only use the meguiars pads with the plastic backer..

now what size should the backers be? because with the meg. one i have i could screw a 9/16 bolt in it but i thought everything was 5/16
