I have been searching apon this forum for a great wax for my silver paint. I have been using the meguiars deep crystal but feel that there is a better product out there for me. I know silver is not like the other paints out there. I just want a a great wax that protects and helps it give it that great wet shiny look. Any ideas? I will be hand waxing btw.

First and foremost, welcome to the forum happy to have you!

Polishing the paint will greatly enhance the gloss and clarity in the paint. Wax or a sealant alone will not give you the wet look. You will find much better look if you polish the paint prior to a sealant or wax application.

What kind for car do you have?

What is the condition?

What are your goals?

Here are some articles to read through if you like:

Now as for your question, here are the waxes I like:
DP Maxx Wax
Blackfire Midnight Sun
BlackFire BlackIce
Collinite 915

Sealants:
Blackfire Wet diamond
Wolfgang Paint Sealant 3.0
Collinite 845

My favorties on silver are as follows:

Spray wax: 4 star ultimate spray wax
Carnuaba wax: Dodo Juice diamond white
synthetic wax: Collonite 845
Sealants: Klasse high gloss sealant glaze & Blackfire wet diamond

I've said before that light colored cars such as silver and white can really benefit from an acrylic type product such as Klasse or Werkstatt. But like Evan said, it's 90% prep work.

I have a 2006 ford f350. Here is a pic of with wax.

It is in descent condition. Some rock chips, couple of deep scratches, some light scratches that I was able to get out with scratch 2.0

The below is not exactly "Silver"...

However:
I believe that SON1C Wax's Carnaubavore Wax: SON1C Wax Carnaubavore...
actually does justice to "Light Pewter Metallic" (A sneak peek of an upcoming review):

I like Chemical Guys Extreme topcoat, that gives a nice glow to silvers and lighter colors in my experience (and I own a light bronzemist metallic car) The other is the sovereign line as Meghan has said.

I really like high carnauba content for silver.

Sorry pics are bad (smart phone ) but you get the idea

I have used meguiars ultimate liquid and the klasse twins on my silver daily driver. Either one looks great on silver.

I use Poorboys White Diamond followed by one of the Collinite trio. 845,476s or 915 depending on what mood I'm in. These photod are 476s.

As for me I really like 3M Performance Synthetic wax, and HD sealant wax. (Poxy)

+1 for SON1C CARNAUBAVORE wax. It is my go too wax on my
alba. silver met. honda. Also it is sold at autogeek.:dblthumb2:

Everyone will have a different opinion.

On my titanium silver metallic paint I've used these products available on autogeek...
  • Blackfire Wet Diamond Paint Sealant
  • Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant
  • Wolfgang Deep Gloss Liquid Seal
  • Pinnacle Liquid Souveran
  • XMT 180
  • P21S 100% Caranauba

I'd say BFWD had the cleanest, "sparkliest" look. P21S had the wettest look. Liquid Souveran kind of split the difference. The spray WDGLS was the easiest to use.

:iagree:

I found you can go to ways with silver. Going with a carnauba will give the car a radiant glow. Sealants will make silver very shiny.

When I owned a silver car I went from wax to sealants simply because the waxes didn't last as long as desired. While I liked the gloss and shine of the sealant, I always missed the look of carnauba.
