Hey all,

Just gathering my order together, I need something which will not just prep the paint for wax but actually remove the old wax applied before I polish the paint.

So basically something to remove all waxes, Im on this page but stuck
will this item do the trick? Griot's Garage Pre-Wax Cleaner, prewax paint cleaner, paint prep cleaner

Thank you, like I said just about to place order, very keen on hearing your response.

Wash the car with dawn first. This would be the cheapest alternative. Others use opt power clean too.

Was that quick enough?

(Haven't had my Pete's Coffee yet, moving kind of slow)

Dawn can remove some substances, I'm not sure it's a for sure cure though...

Some protection ingredients are detergent resistant, probably a combination of claying and washing with a detergent soap would remove the majority of anything on the surface off the surface.

And of course, compounding and polishing will obliterate anything on the surface.

:)

I haven't used that particular product but it looks like it would work fine. Others (including me) use a mixture of isoprophol alcohol (IPA) as a final wipe down before wax/sealant. You can pick some up at the drug store an cut with distilled water.

There are other paint cleansers that have a filling property and that will help hide fine swirls if you don't care to or can't get rid of them. I like Pinnacle Paint Cleansing Lotion. Hope that helps.

Mike, maybe I missed what he was trying to do by a mile?

Really quick appreciate it. Have added it to my cart

Man that coffee looks good.

Might as well add the Pre-Wax Cleaner while you're at it. I have been using a sample that 07 z-oh-6 sent me, prefer this over IPA. Great stuff and no issues such as streaks or the smell of IPA!

My favorite coffee brand. Drinking some Peet's right now. It's delicious. Definitely helps get the day off to a good start.

I agree. I just picked up a bag of their house blend... very good coffee in my coffee opinion...

I learned about Peet's when I was buffing this 1938 Packard out in Palm Springs, California, right down the road from Bob Hope's house. The owner was a Peet's fan and made me some while was working for him.

I need to buy coffee today, maybe I'll try it. But, I don't think I have seen it up here in the Chicagoland area.

That's awesome. Great story to help tie your memory to the coffee. The house blend is what I typically get. Even Walmart sells it now. I remember when you could only get it online or through the more specialized stores (e.g., Fresh Market). It's definitely not as acidic (or has as much bite) as the Starbucks stuff.

The first time I had it is when my girlfriend sent me a pack of it. Pretty much been hooked ever since.

Check their website for a location (Peet's Coffee & Tea). You may be able to find one near you (select grocery stores).

I think they even have a printable coupon if you search for Peet's coffee on google.

It appears there's a Fresh Market near St. Charles or in St. Charles area. They will definitely carry Peet's.

Thanks!! That is actually 3 blocks from my house.:dblthumb2:

Excellent! The House Blend is my favorite. It's a bit more mild (which means higher caffeine content too). You'll have to share what you think about the coffee.
