Hey every won my name is Blake and new to this buffing thing . My car look great from distance but when you get up close there spider marks every wear the lady that owned the car did not wash it allot or wax it . But I was wondering what are some good step to get them out . I tried orange pad at lower speed with some really good swirl remover stuff from autogeek ( get the name later) and it F up my hood just in the spot I did it made these bad swirl marks. All I want is my car to look like million buck from up close :( .

O here picture of my car .
Thanks,
Blake

If you identified the swirl remover that you used would be a great help to us in helping you. The likely solution now would be to use a less aggressive polish with a white polishing pad to burnish a high the paint into a high gloss.

Make sure you wash/clay the car properly cause that could introduce some small contaminants that could cause a lot of scratches. Also like said above, which product did you use?

The orange pad maybe to aggressive. I can not see the pic at work so Im not sure what car it is your working on. I always follow an orange pad (if it is even needed) with a white pad and less aggressive polish then a blue pad and a final polish.
What machine are you using?
What pads?
Size?
What polish?

I had two of those Supercharged Bufords in the past (99,00) and both were easy to keep up with Megs DACP and PC buffer. I would now use Menzerna polishes (likely IP and FP) or the new one 203.

Porter cable I using and for the polish I using Pinnacle advance finishing polish and there swirl polish stuff .

I assume you mean Pinnacle ASR and AFP. Those two products did wonders for my van, removed 99% of swirl marks. I used an LC orange pad for the ASR and white pad for the AFP. If you post a pic of the worst areas, the experts here can help you (I'm a PC newbie too - have only used it twice).

Ok I will try to take some pictures . What speed did you use when working with the orange pad? So weird how car look so good but when you get up close there all these spider marks .

Try to follow up with AFP and a white pad. What size pads are you using?

I followed the intructions on the Pinnacle video (which came with my kit). If I recall correctly, I used between 5 and 6 speed on the orange/ASR combo. And between 3 and 4 speed on the white/AFP combo. Per the video, I stopped polishing when the product turned translucent, which to me was about 5 minutes on each panel, working very slowly with up/down/left/right motions.

Size of the pad not sure guess the stock size that comes with the buffer I sure I have paper some where. Do you think I need to get smaller pad maybe? Only thing I can think of is maybe the lighting? I going to buy one those halogen light from sears I think that will help out lot . Can anybody recommend good light so can see my work little better?.

Did you clay your car before using PC7424? i had no problems with orange pad causing spider web marks, but maybe try less aggressive polish and a white pad.

For lights the Brinkman dual xenon is a nice hand held unit, harbor frieght sells a nice LED floor lamp and the 1000w Halogens (I got mine from Sears). With a PC I always use 5.5 and 4" pads only, recently using only the 4" pads I like working with them a lot.

Really 5.5 is it white pad or orange ? Did you get it from here or another site?

H There:
I bought a nice 1000 w worklight stand like they show in the videos. You can raise & lower and lock in the height with locking collars..You can also raise & lower the light bar.You can remove the light bar section & place on the floor or in my case I put it on top off a couple of big boxes using pieces of wood on the rear legs to get the proper angle I need.About $28 at Lowes.Utilitech is the name, item number 199382. Two each 500 w lights, one on each end of the light bar with the grilles so you don't burn yourself.
