Hey guys this is my first post though I've been reading threads for a few months now just to get some expert tips and info on some DIY's. I've been detailing my own car for sometime now and a year ago I purchased a Ferrari 360. And since then I've gotten into detailing cars a lot. I detail a few local car guys cars around my area as well. I use a pc7424xp and have done a few paint correction on a few cars that turned out great. But here is the challenge, a friends car was keyed, it's a Toyota Camry with silver exterior. (Sucks, but thank god it wasn't my car). I wanted to see if I am able to fix something like this or is it a body shop type of repair? Inputs please. Thanks. View attachment 14831View attachment 14832
 
run your finger nail up-down , if it catch the nail than is too deep , and even with wetsand it will be there , but not as visible as is now.
if the nail barely catch than you may try to buff it out.
another option will be to fill it in and buff the excess, but the repair will be still visible.
i hope it helps to estimate the damage
 
Man it pisses me off that people do this!!! I don't know what I would do if I caught someone in the act... even if it wasn't my car.

In the pictures it looks like it would require a pro respray to completely fix the damage. If it is not covered under insurance, or if you want to try a DIY repair, here are some threads with great info to get you started:

Thanks for all the help guys. Yeah it sucks how people can just do something that stupid. I remember when my car got egged. It totally pissed me off. All the effort I put in to make it look as perfect as possible and somebody will just mess it up for no reason. Aww it totally pisses me off. Anyways thanks a lot guys. Here is the baby. Currently with the darker wheel finish since I had to get em refinish.
